Former NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman has defended his trip to North Korea to celebrate the birthday of the country’s leader Kim Jong-un.Rodman is leading an all-star basketball team to play an exhibition match against a North Korean line up.The exact age and birth date of Kim Jong-un is unknown.Rodman reiterated his affection for the leader:“This is for his birthday, this is his gift. I love the guy, the guy is my friend, for ever and ever:”Rodman has been criticised in the US for his connections with Pyongyang.The basketball player has been asked several times if he would raise the issue of Kenneth Bae.The Korean-American is currently serving a 15 year jail sentence for sedition.
