The ballot boxes are locked and polls are closed in Bangladesh. In this violence-plagued election, Bangladesh's ruling party is poised to win. Local media is reporting that at least 18 people were killed in separate incidents on election day. Many more were injured. Six supporters of Bangladesh's main opposition party lay injured in a hospital. They were wounded by police fire, after attempting to attack a police station while they protested against the elections. (SOUNDBITE) (Bengali) UNIDENTIFIED OPPOSITION SUPPORTER SAYING: "We will not allow voting, for as long as democracy is not restored. This is a democratic country. All of us who support democracy, are protesting this election." Some polling stations in Bogra were forced to close, when protesters set fire to ballots.
