Deposed Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi has arrived in court in Cairo where he is due to stand trial.Mursi and 14 other members of the Muslim Brotherhood are facing charges of inciting the killing of protesters outside the presidential palace as opposition to his rule spread.Cairo is on high alert as supporters of the Brotherhood have called for mass protests.Mursi replaced Hosni Mubarack as the country’s president following a democratic election, but during his 13 months in power he was in conflict with a number of key institutions.As discontent spread the army stepped in and removed him from power in July.He has been held at an undisclosed location since his ouster.Since being deposed the interim government has cracked down on the Muslim Brotherhood arresting hundreds of its members.Cairo is on edge and many believe the trial will further deepen divisions within the country and lead to yet more instability and violence.
