Ah yes, the role that made Harrison Ford a star. As Han Solo, Ford was the grumpy bad ass of the Star Wars universe. He was happy to shoot first (at least in the initial version of Star Wars), question authority and deliver bursts of sarcastic/angry one-liners to princesses and droids. Han Solo was the space cowboy that every child of the '70s and '80s dreamed they could be and no actor could have nailed the role in quite the same way. Want an example? Well, how about the fact that the iconic “I love you.” “I know.” exchange from The Empire Strikes Back was improvised on the spot by Ford? That’s one of the greatest flippantly romantic moments of all time, the type of thing that only Hollywood’s greatest grump could dream up.
