Last year, the Green Party appeared to have established itself as the third-most powerful political force in Germany. Baden-W?rttemberg even elected Germany's first Green Party state premier. In recent months, though, their fortunes appear to be fading. Now that the government has decided to phase out nuclear power, the Greens have lost a central plank in their platform, and the Pirate Party is also luring away many of their long-time supporters.
