Meanwhile, Syrian Television reports that government forces have regained control of several parts of the ancient Christian town of Maaloula. The town was the site of intense fighting this week, having changed hands three times between President Bashar al-Assad's forces and rebel groups. Maaloula is home to a number of churches and important monasteries, some of which were damaged in the fighting. As the fighting continues, the opposition Syrian National Coal
