ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) An early morning bus crash killed 40 people and left dozens injured as it crashed and rolled down into a valley on Friday (August 30), after steering out of control off a winding highway. By the time it came to a halt the roof and sides had been torn off and dozens of dead and injured were scattered all around. The injured were taken to the local Narok District hospital. The bus "City to City" was travelling from the Kenyan capital Nairobi to the western town of Homa Bay on the shores of Lake Victoria. According to police, the bus was licensed to carry 65 passengers but counting the dead and the injured it appeared to have had about 80 people on board.
