We all know Lady Gaga is currently touring the world on her 'Born This Way Ball' world tour, but she managed to squeeze in some shopping- for a good cause! Welcome back to ClevverMusic. Mother Monster had someone do bidding on her behalf in London yesterday at Christie's auction house where fashion collector and icon Daphne Guinness sold her one-of-a-kind clothing and photographs to benefit the Isabella Blow Foundation. With bidders from over 21 countries, the auction rose over $700,000 for the foundation which supports emerging artists in the fashion and art space. One of those bidders was Lady Gaga, who set a new world record price for a gown by purchasing an ivory Alexander McQueen gown entitled "The Girl Who Lived In The Tree" from Daphne for a cool $130 thousand dollars! Gaga reportedly purchased additional undisclosed pieces at the auction. Gaga's love for McQueen is no secret, she even penned song "Fashion of His Love" for the late designer.Despite rumors of beef between Daphne and Gaga previously, Daphne expressed, "I'm particularly moved by Lady Gaga's support for the Foundation... I like her very much..."Daphne also tweeted to express her gratitude for Gaga's generosity, "And, THANK YOU to my friend Lady Gaga. You are a real person. And a great one!..." And it seems the feeling is mutual, Mother Monster has said in the past of Daphne, "Daphne, like Isabella, is a huge source of inspiration for me. I cherish them both."We love that Gaga continues to give back, and we especially love that this auction supports new and emerging talent in the sphere where art and fashion meet!
