Wonka's Welcome Song (FAN VERSION)
from YouTube :: Tag // voice July 08, 2008
This is my version of Danny Elfman's "Wonka Welcome Song" from CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. This was my first attempt at the song and was recorded late last year. I recorded the vocals in one night at around 3am (much to the dismay of my neighbors) with a cheap microphone. I apologize for the poor quality. Please don't be too hard on me. I performed all the vocals and had to sing it well over twenty five times (each in a slightly different style) in order to achieve the Oompa Loompa choir effect. Sadly, I used no pitch shifting... all vocal tracks are me singing in my "real" voice -- I found that singing in a SpongeBob/Cartman voice suited the vocals well and added some depth to the harmonies. I'm saving up for a professional mic, so once it has been purchased and I get the instrumental track sounding less like it was composed with synth instruments and more like a real orchestra I'll be re-recording it. The instrumental track is proving to be a pain in the ass (hence the poor sound quality). It's still very much a work in progress. Btw.. if anyone knows where I can find a decent sounding calliope soundfont, please let me know! Thanks for the listen and my sincerest apologies to Danny Elfman for butchering his song. COMING SOON! My version of... "This is Halloween" "Making Christmas" "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" "Veruca Salt" Author: ExactlyNothing Keywords: willy wonka welcome song fan version danny elfman tim burton charlie chocolate factory oompa loompa Added: July 8, 2008
