Chapter 12- PART TWO "I have Type 1 Diabetes. So I have to check my blood sugar before I eat." That caught me off guard. How could someone so perfect have a disease like diabetes? "You are so lucky you don't have to deal with this." I gave a nervous laugh and then looked back down at my food: he had no idea. After Nick pricked his finger and checked his blood sugar, he put his blue tester back in his pocket and started eating. Nick and I talked the whole night and I loved when he made me laugh. Laughing was what I needed that day because I forgot all about my doctor's visit earlier. In fact I had forgotten I even had cancer because I wasn't having symptoms at all. A boy was my cure. After a few hours Nick realized how late it was getting, so he got up from the table and called his driver. When he came back he sat down and smiled at me. "Better get you back before your parents start to worry." Parents? I hadn't heard that term in a while. "Yah my dad might flip out." Nick laughed and then took my hand again. When we were outside, he led me to the SUV we came in and then opened the door for me once again. The ride home was actually a little awkward. We talked and laughed but it was like Nick wanted to do more than hold my hand. Oh geez. When we arrived at my house, Nick got out and walked me to my door. I thanked him and turned to go inside when I felt his hand grab mine. I turned back towards him and saw his little smirk again. "So, does this count as a second date?" I looked at him confused and then nodded my head slowly. Next thing I knew he was moving closer to me and that's when I started to get nervous. "So, you wouldn't mind if I did this..." Nick took my face in his hands and kissed me. That was the best moment of my life and one of those memories I never want to forget. But soon or later, it hit me, Harry Potter has ended, there's no eighth book. You know, when I was five, I saw the first Harry Potter movie, and I was frightened. I stopped watching and reading Harry Potter. But years later, my mom bought me the 1st book, and I decided to try it. I was amazing, it was like I was actually there, aside Harry all the time. Now it's ended, too people are giving it up. But I won't give it up, ever. I swore I'll keep it all my life, and I'll pass it to my children. I'll use it as a long bed time story, that never ends. Chapter 3- "Who was your friend Madi?" My sister had this enormous smile on her face, the kind she always got when she thought I was flirting with a guy. So, she wasn't completely wrong: I was flirting with Nick Jonas, but just a little bit. "Um, some kid that liked my song." As soon as I said that I knew she wouldn't let it go, but to avoid further questioning I got in Cassidy's car and sat there waiting for her to drive away. When we got home, I put my guitar by the stairs and then went to find my dad. I wanted to hug him for bringing me back to life. For making me realize that life could go on even without my mom there by my side. I loved him for that. Now, hugging my dad wasn't something I normally did because he was raised in a family where they were never really actually taught how to show affection. I know, crazy right? But it's the truth. Whenever my dad hugged me or my sister it was kind of a big deal. So, needless to say when I went into his office and showed my love for him, I thought I saw a tear in the corner of his eye when I left. So to avoid my sister's gaze a second time, I headed upstairs to my room, or my sanctuary, my mom would say. When I went past Torrence's room I noticed something very familiar on a poster that was hanging above her bed. Sure enough when I went inside and took a closer look at it, I found that the boy on the left was the exact same one from the studio. I smiled when I realized I had just met someone very famous. Weird how I didn't know it at the time. "Hey, what brings you to my room?" "Hey Tor, who are those boys on your poster?" I saw Tori's face light up with excitement at the mention of "those boys." They seemed like a huge part of her life, but I didn't understand why. After I asked who they were, I kind of regretted it because Tori went on for at least twenty minutes about them until I had to physically stop her. "And the one on the left is Nick, the middle is Joe, and the one on the right is Kevin." My assumptions were right: the same boy in the picture was in fact the one I had talked to earlier that day. "Why are you asking so many questions about them Madi? I didn't even think you listened to music." That was the complete truth: I didn't listen to music ever since my mom died. Her death affected me so much that not only was it hard to listen to my own music, I couldn't enjoy anyone else's either. "Um...I do sometimes, I guess, but I'm asking you because I talked to Nick at a recording studio today." Tori hesitated a little bit and then started laughing at how incredibly unrealistic that sounded. "Right, and I danced with Chris Brown yesterday." I looked back at her with a confused expression: who the heck was Chris Brown? When Tori realized I probably didn't know who that was, she shook her head and walked over to her bed to take her shoes off. "No, you don't understand. I really did talk to Nick. He told me he liked my singing." I knew Tori wasn't going to believe me, so I had to do the unthinkable: take her to the studio so she could see for herself that I wasn't a compulsive liar. And that was when my life changed. Chapter 22- (Kevin's POV) Kevin was enjoying his time relaxing after being on tour so long, so he and Frankie decided to start a battle on Guitar Hero. Of course, Kevin would always beat Frankie, but he started to feel bad, so he let Frankie beat him on a couple of songs. Then, in the middle of a heated battle, Kevin heard his phone ring. "Hey bud, can we pause this, my phone is ringing." Frankie looked up at Kevin with an annoyed look on his face. Kevin looked back with a pleading expression. "Ok, fine, but I'm not giving you a head start when we un-pause it." Kevin smiled at his brother and then ran to get his phone. He wanted to answer it because he thought that Andie might call him back one of these days. Usually every time his phone beeped his heart fluttered because he hoped that maybe this was the time that he would get to hear Andie's voice again. Kevin found his phone on the table next to his bed and answered it without looking at the caller ID. "Hey, this is Kevin." "Hey Kevin this is Ashley Leggat from Life With Derek." Kevin looked down at his phone: why would Ashley Leggat be calling him? He had never spoken to her before and he had never actually seen her in person either. "Um...hey Ashley what's up?" "Not much, but you're probably wondering why I'm calling you. See, Kenny Ortega called me yesterday and told me about a new Disney movie he wants me to star in. He also mentioned that he would love for you and your brothers to co-star with me. He got your number from Miley, so I was just calling to see if you and your brothers wanted to maybe have lunch with me tomorrow so we could go over the details of the movie." Kevin was in shock. THE Kenny Ortega wanted the Jonas Brothers to star in another movie? He was curious to see what kind of storyline this Disney movie had, so he was willing to meet with Ashley to discuss the characters and the plot. "Wow, yah that sounds great. Except, my brothers have plans for tomorrow, so I think it's only going to be me." "Oh, that's fine then. I guess I'll see you around one at...um...how about that little café on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard?" "Ok, sounds good, I haven't been there in awhile." Kevin and Ashley said their goodbyes and then Kevin went back downstairs to finish his battle with Frankie. He had a smile on his face, which Frankie noticed right away. "Who is she?" Frankie smiled up at his older brother. He could always tell when Nick, Joe, or Kevin got a call from a girl. "Ashley Leggat: she wants to have lunch with me tomorrow to discuss a new Disney movie that we could possibly be starring in." Frankie quickly took off the guitar that was around his neck and ran up to Kevin. "Can I come?" Kevin laughed at Frankie and then bent down so he was at his level. "I'm sorry little bro, but this is strictly business, so you would get bored listening to me and Ashley talking. I would love to take you: but maybe next time ok buddy?" "Ok." Kevin went back to the TV and grabbed the guitar. He waited for Frankie to grab his and when they were both ready, Kevin un-paused the game. [AN: 5 more chapters! oh and I'm announcing that there will be a sequel cuz i just got an amazing idea for it =)] Chapter 46- (Kevin's POV) After Kevin dropped Nick off, he picked up Andie at her house. He smiled when he saw her in a green dress because he loved when she wore green. It made her red hair stand out more. He opened the car door for her and then got in and pulled out of the driveway. Kevin was taking her to a fancy restaurant for a nice, quiet, and romantic dinner. The twist was that they would be alone. Kevin had rented out the entire restaurant for the night just so that he could have some privacy with Andie before he would be leaving in the morning. When they pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant, Andie was confused. There were only a few cars there and it looked like it was pitch black inside. "Uh...hun, I don't think this place is open. There's no one here." "Oh don't worry, it's open." Kevin got out and opened the door for Andie again. He took her hand and led her inside. She was right; it was pitch black in the entire restaurant except for a path lit up by candles. Kevin smiled down at Andie as he followed the path and led her into the dining area. The path got bigger and eventually they lined the wall of a whole room. In the center of the room was one single table set for two with a candle in the middle. Andie kissed Kevin on the cheek. "Kevin this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." Kevin smiled and led Andie to the table. He pulled out her chair for her and then waited until she sat down before he sat in the seat opposite her. When they were both seated, a waiter came out of the kitchen and gave them menus to look at. "Kevin, this restaurant is kinda expensive. Are you sure about this?" "Don't even worry about Andie. Tonight is all about you and I want you to order anything you want." After looking over the menu, the waiter came and took their orders. While waiting for their food, Kevin took both of Andie's hands in his and held them across the table. "You look so beautiful, as always." Andie blushed. Kevin always knew what to say at the right moments. Then, Andie remembered something that she wanted to tell Kevin. She wasn't sure how he'd take it and definitely didn't want to tell him. She wanted to delay it as long as possible or just not tell him at all. No, that wasn't an option. She had to tell him because it would have an effect on their relationship. But, she knew if she told him, she would start crying and he might too. After deciding to tell him after dinner so that she wouldn't ruin the night, she looked up at Kevin and knew that he saw that she wanted to say something. "Andie, you look like you want to tell me something." It was too late. She had to tell him. "I do have something to tell you, but I don't know how to say it." Kevin was frowning now. This was bad news. Andie let go of Kevin's hands and started crying. Kevin didn't know what to say: he was expecting the worse. "Kevin, my dad's company offered him a job in another city, so our whole family is moving next month." Kevin's worries were immediately washed away. He thought she was breaking up with him, but moving was no big deal. "Oh, that's it? Well, that won't be such a big deal. So, I have to drive a little further to see you, no problem." This made Andie cry harder. "No, Kevin, it's more than a little further. It's a lot further." Kevin's smile was wiped away. "Like, how far?" "Like North Carolina far." Andie saw Kevin's reaction and put her head in her hands and just cried. She didn't want to see the pain on Kevin's face anymore. Kevin just sat there: he too had tears in his eyes. Finally, he cleared his throat and attempted to talk. "Andie, let's not worry about the future. We're here together now and that's all that matters. Plus, we are playing two shows in North Carolina, so we can see each other then." Andie looked up from her hands. Kevin was right. They only had tonight together, so she shouldn't worry about the future just yet. At that point, their food came. They ate, trying to forget about Andie's news, but they both knew that it could never be forgotten. They're lives were changed forever.
