from Financial Aid Podcast Daily Free Internet Radio On Demand October 22, 2007
FAP652: Fingerpointing, FAFSA mail bag, Cleveland, Girls Stuff Student Financial Aid News + Chronicle: The board of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, or Pheaa, voted on Friday to accept a list of recommendations to reduce its spending on financial-aid programs in the 2008-9 fiscal year by a projected 58 percent, to $44.4-million. Those cuts would mean a drop in the number of students receiving grants, and less money for nursing students and educators, as well as adults in job-training programs. + James Preston, Pheaa’s interim president, told The Patriot-News that the reductions were needed because of recently enacted cuts in federal subsidies on student loans and financial market conditions. + No surprises there - we ve warned since before the College Cost Reduction Act that it would take a toll on more than just loans, and now you re seeing the results? If you re going to point fingers, point them squarely at a Congress that doesn t read the legislation it passes and then acts surprised by unintended consequences Scholarship Update + Cleveland Foundation Scholarships + Thanks to the vision and generosity of many donors, the Cleveland Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to eligible applicants. Changing Times
from Vimeo / Si's uploaded videos June 12, 2006
Untitled from on Vimeo. There will be no more clips that start by me walking to Tom's bedroom door, for in September Tom will be living with his Girlfriend. However, I have a strong feeling there will be some that start by walking to the front door of Tom's new house... Oh, and by the way - in case you are unsure or have been misled: farting on other people's stuff is always funny. Unless you are on the receiving end. Cast: Si, BradCadoogan

ReelSolidTV Episode 01
from Reel Solid TV May 28, 2006
Keep Rising To The Top's (KR3TS) mission is to broaden the notion of what a dancer is and promote the preservation of ethnic and cultural dances. Based in Spanish Harlem, KR3TS fulfills a need in the community to provide a positive alternative to social and street pressures by providing dance classes and support programs in a non-discriminating atmosphere. KR3TS also carries out its mission through its core-performance group that fosters pre-professional dancers. KR3TS Dance Company caters to children, young adults of lower to middle income families in Latino communities of New York City primarily. The company also opens its doors to any other community. Their goal is to provide an outlet to develop skills and abilities that will enhance their lifestyles. They learn to express their talents through dance, and are encouraged to set goals, strive for what they believe in, to improve their self-esteem, cooperation, and integration as part of a group, and to dream. They are secure with the knowledge that no matter what level of skill, they can achieve their goals through dedication, determination and hard work. No matter what the obstacles, they must... Keep Rising To The Top!! The program offers a year round ongoing curriculum, for both males and females, ranging from 5 to 34 years of age, and has students from varied ethnic backgrounds. Offered are private classes, workshops, performers, management for artists and dancers, coaching, artist development - height, size, age, race doesn't matter - this is a family, anyone can do it!! Practice is based in Spanish Harlem. They are exposed to varied dance styles such as ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, salsa, merengue, and African dance. Participation in field trips to area performances, guest teachers and opportunities to showcase their talent at local arts and civic centers are just part of the fuel that keeps the KR3TS students improving and striving to be the best they can be. They have been featured on the METRO Channel "Studio Y". They are also proud to have choreographed and performed to the title song of the film Blazin (featuring Angie Martinez, Phat Joe..) at the movie's premiere in New York City.

Arse
from Vimeo / Si's uploaded videos May 10, 2006
Untitled from on Vimeo. Another video for my Uni project. We have to make an interactive CD using Flash, and I decided to use my body as the menu, clicking on different parts to get different videos/audio. The previous video was obviously for the nose; and this one, as the title suggests, is for the arse. It is the most serious video of the bunch, and showcases my laid back middle-class white-boy rapping style - which I'm still getting my head around. I have a couple of niggles with this vid, but I've not got time to do it again, so it will do. Again, if you'd like to listen to the better quality audio please download the original. Filmed by Tom Downs. UPDATE: As requested you can now download the mp3 of this song from here: http://www.dakejuka.com/vimeo/Arse.mp3 Huge thanks to J.B. Nimble for hosting the file! Cast: Si

Bogeys

Untitled from on Vimeo. A bogey is the same as a booger, but English. I made this video, and the music, for an end of year Uni project. I'll upload a few more vids once they're done. Thanks to Kyle for filming, and to Tom for being a bogey with me. The sound quality is much better on the original Quicktime file, so you might like to download that. Cast: Si, DigitalDweller and BradCadoogan
