And I did know how to read music when I was a kid, because well, back then in school, they taught music and I had to learn how to read music. Man I feel old now. But I haven t touched music really in about 30 years, well I did sing in my church choir ..(stay on topic Heath, stay on topic). The point is, that I really don t know anything about music. So why did I buy Music software? Well that s a good question! As you all may or may not know, I am trying to start getting paid to make video s. And when you make video s people (clients) usually want some kind of music, not always, but enough. Well I have got PLENTY of music, it s just not mine. Well, it s mine but I don t own the copyrights to the music. What I do for myself is one thing, what I do for a client who is paying me ..I am sure you see where this is going. So since I don t own a Mac (not yet) and I don t have all the cool things you all do. I had to buy the music software. I use Sony Vegas, heard some nice thinks about Music Studio and well that s why I bought it. Now back to the I have no idea how to make music That s true, I really don t have any idea, well I guess I should say I didn t . Today, today April 27th, I made my very first piece of music. Now I did it with the loops that Sony provides (which I can do anything with, btw yea). It s not the best piece of music you will ever hear, but I made it. I made it after just messing around a bit and trying some things out. This is what I do, I try. I always am trying to learn new things. I hope to get better but for my first try I think it s OK. So, now that I had music, I needed to set it to some video, so I took some left over Navlopomo video and piced togehter this little video here. It goes with my experimenting I like to do every once and awhile. So I hope you all like it, and let me know what you all think! Vlog On!

I Am Legend Stunt from Avene on Vimeo. This clip was something I put together last year back when Will Smith's 'I Am Legend' film first appeared at the cinemas and contains footage from the stunt scene which appears in the opening scene of the movie. I'd managed to shoot this from the Empire State Building one Saturday whilst we were in New York in late September/October 2006. They kept shooting this scene over and over again, but I only had the patience to videotape just one of the takes. Down on the ground where they were filming it was crazy.. No one could get access, the cars and cabs were losing their patience, and if you had a camcorder like me, you weren't allowed to shoot anything. I got in trouble myself once, but what do you expect being a tourist from Australia :) Although high on the Empire State Building they couldn't stop me, and I had a much better view from there too! The footage itself originally looked pretty rough. I was using a Sony (piece of crap) HC1 back then which had some serious video noise issues, just like a lot of other affordable Sony HD cameras. Thankfully though I've managed to clean it up quite well. Firstly by adding more noise in Vegas to even out the Sony noise and then running it through the Magic Bullet 'Green Pearl' preset. That last one probably helped the most. Cast: Avene

First Snow from Tripp Woelfel on Vimeo. Taken with a Canon HV10 literally in my back yard the morning after the first snowfall of the season. I used Adobe Premier Pro CS3 for editing and After Effects for the titles. Color correction was done to each shot to bring up the colors in very flat lighting. This is the first of a series. Color correction using Sony Vegas and a DJTV tutorial from Oliver Reik on Vimeo. I followed the tutorial "Cutting Class: The Joy of Coloring" on Digital Juice DJTV an tried it on some of my footage, which I took during a journey to Australia and Dubai. In the rectangle you can see the result of the color correction. The changes I made were only very minor and mainly just the adjustment of contrast and luminance.
