My dad is best remembered for being the lead singer in his group called The Wheels and being band leader and showman at the Plaza Ballroom, Belfast. He then gave Van Morrison his first break and subsequently Van Morrison wrote ''Gloria'' for The Wheels. Dad also had a huge English following. His most popular venue was the famous Queens Dolphin Bar at Cleveleys, Lancashire where he appeared for 7 years. Van Morrison always refers to dad in any interviews that he does.
