COMPLETED PERFORMANCE By Pastor Gene Applegate Philippians 1:6 (NASB) 6For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Many of God s people go about feeling incompetent and totally insecure. Every Christian desires to be effective in the Kingdom of God. We want to be a vessel that is efficient and capable. Just when we get a little self-confidence, something happens in our life bringing discouragement. Perhaps we make a mistake. Or, after extending great effort, someone offers pointed criticism. We are devastated. Depression takes over. We feel like a total failure. Remember that most criticism comes from those who are jealous or haughty in their spirit. They are tools of the enemy. They may be deliberately trying to cripple and destroy, or a Christian, who is unknowingly be used. Perhaps we have fallen short in our expectation. There may even be room for some criticism. Nevertheless, there is no reason to give up. We must remember that we are a work in progress. God is continually forming and shaping our lives into exactly what he wants us to be. It does not matter what other people think. The important thing is to please our Lord and Redeemer. The Lord is always forgiving, and much easier to satisfy than are people. He began a good work in you when you became a new creature in Christ Jesus through repentance and water baptism (Acts 2:38) He will continue to mold and shape you, constantly refining you until that great Day of the Lord. Be encouraged. Our Lord Jesus is both patient, and forgiving. He is perfecting you day by day. Rejoice! You walk in His righteousness and not your own. Prayer: My heavenly Father, I come to you as an imperfect child. I know that I sometimes fail in my efforts to serve you. The criticism of others has hurt me. I didn t respond very well. Please forgive me. I want you to keep nurturing me and complete the work that you have already begun. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

SAFE AND SECURE By Pastor Gene Applegate Romans 8:38-39 (New American Standard Bible) 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Fear and insecurity are one of the greatest detriments to a successful Christian life. We often find ourselves bombarded by thoughts that are not wholesome. We are consumed with fear of failure. Successful living is a fleeting dream. There are so many battles to fight, circumstances to overcome; and powers greater than we, against us. It seems absolutely impossible to live a happy overcoming life, free from care and worry. The Scripture reminds us that God is promised to cover us with his protection. He has made it plain that there is no power on earth capable of ripping us from His covering. What a blessed truth. Our commitment to serve the Lord Jesus Christ has sealed us in his love. The enemy may try to bring all kinds of opposition, but shall be in vain. Nothing of the past are the future, can remove us from the love of God. No matter how great the opposition may be, nothing can separate us from our Lord Jesus Christ. God s great arm of righteousness will uphold us. His love will sustain us. The blood of Jesus Christ shall preserve us. Circumstances of the past, obstacles of the future, even death itself cannot steal our victorious life from us. We can live boldly, with confidence that we shall complete the course have before us. No power on earth are in the heavens is greater than the love of God. Prayer: Heavenly Father, the obstacles of life intimidates me. I become fearful of losing my relationship with you. Sometimes I do fail and make mistakes but most often, I am overwhelmed by the attacks of Satan or the problems of life. Please forgive me for my fear and insecurity.
