Brooklyn Babydoll CIFF edit
from Videoblog from media artist Mica Scalin September 29, 2008
Pamela Sparacino is World Famous in Brooklyn. As pinup model The Brooklyn Babydoll, her fame and notoriety actually extends way beyond New York s most populous borough, but her true passion lies squarely on the shores of Coney Island. I made this short film with Ilise Carter and premiered it at the Coney Island Film Festival this past weekend! We are working on a few more segments for the Mermaids of New York series and planning to make a website to house them all this month but wanted to share this one with you now! Hope you like!

Walk in Bangkok
from Videoblog from media artist Mica Scalin June 27, 2008
I have been rather sluggish these past few months and as a result my video and bloggy output had stalled to a halt. This week, out of the blue, I was thrilled to receive a sort of fan submission from my friend Sean! Sean went to visit Bangkok and brought back this nice moment walking through the Jim Thompson House Museum. When I was in Bangkok a few weeks back, I saw the various types of ground at the famous Jim Thompson House (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Thompson_House) and shot the attached as a sort of an homage to your work. He also directed me to another of his random acts of video tourism warning not recommended for anyone who has Carnophobia : http://sevendeadlyseans.tumblr.com/post/36846546/sausagefest Thanks so much, Sean, I am feeling inspired to start moving again.

Your Metal Brain
from recent posts - blip.tv (beta) March 05, 2008
I made this film for an event curated by uber-videoblogger, Mica Scalin, called FEAR REVERE. Mica asked 13 artists to do a horror video remix. Other videos from the event can be seen at http://publicaddress.typepad.com/fear/ Your Metal Brain marries two of my favorite things -- weird Japanese things (in this case, Shinya Tsukamoto's "Tetsuo: The Iron Man") and the coming technology Singularity. You couldn't tell it from the film, but I'm looking forward to the Singularity. Nonetheless, I'm still a bit . . . fearful!

The Horror for Fear Revere 2007
from Videoblog from media artist Mica Scalin November 13, 2007
This is the video I made for the Fear Revere screening. I set out to make something very simple about the basic fun of scaring yourself. It became political due to the props I had at hand to made the video. This gave the piece a more layered and the same time more overt meaning than I had originally intended and I think it was ultimately good for the end result. What do you think?

Night Intersection
from Videoblog from media artist Mica Scalin October 04, 2007
This city has so many moving parts, most of them people. Saturday night, found us in a random bar, drinking with the locals of a neighborhood 60 blocks north of ours. I like the way the movement of all the people going in different directions creates a perpetual zig-zagging of movement across the frame. Very kinetic and fun - a visualization of why I love living here.
