We have a couple of interesting topics to cover again. This time from the Mobile Studio, parked at Iron Station, in our Neighbor to the North. You may hear the sound of gunfire in the background. No, we're not under attack. As far as I can tell. It's just the way they celebrate July 4th here abouts. Quite a sound! This week we begin with a follow-up look at Japan's response to President Bush's decision to remove North Korea from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Nothing very surprising. The real test of the significance of this issue is yet to come. Then we shift to domestic politics, to consider a proposal recently made by LDP Upper House Member, Ichita Yamamoto. To change the rules under which an LDP president is elected. Yamamoto's proposal has received virtually no attention in Japan's political press. But I think it could well be important in the future. If, as I suspect, Yamamoto is raising the issue with the support of a larger number of reformers within the LDP. We have to review Junichiro Koizumi's experience back in 2001 to appreciate the potential of this issue. Thanks for all of the e-mailed comments and suggestions. Led Zeppelin - Ramble On Copyright - 1969 Atlantic Records "Ramble On" is a song by English rock band Led Zeppelin from their 1969 album Led Zeppelin II. It was co-written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and was recorded in 1969 at Juggy Sound Studio, New York, during the band's second concert tour of the United States The song's lyrics were heavily influenced by The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The opening line ("Leaves are falling all around") is probably a paraphrase of the opening line of Tolkien's poem "Namárië". The poem may also be the inspiration for the entire first verse. The Tolkien references later in the song refer to the adventures of either Frodo Baggins as he travels to Mordor or Aragorn as he has to choose between staying with his love Arwen (Elrond's daughter) or going to retrieve the Ring in Mordor: " Mine's a tale that can't be told, My freedom I hold dear; How years ago in days of old When magic filled the air, T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor I met a girl so fair. But Gollum, and the evil one crept up And slipped away with her. " Plant later admitted in an audio documentary that he was embarrassed by the Tolkien references. References to the work of Tolkien also exist in other Led Zeppelin songs, such as "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp", "The Battle of Evermore" and "Misty Mountain Hop". The guitar's jangly introduction employs a classic Jimmy Page technique: using regular open chords superimposed higher on the fretboard. Often mistaken for bongos, drummer John Bonham is actually hitting a plastic rubbish bin throughout the song. The song also serves as a classic illustration of the tight interplay between bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham. Jones' light, melodic bass phrases give way to a clever ascending motif which follows Bonham's bass drum. Until 2007 "Ramble On" was never performed live in its entirety at Led Zeppelin concerts. Did that headline grab your attention? It s exactly the kind of slimy trick FOX News played when anchor E.D. Hill began her show America s Pulse with the teaser: A fist bump? A pound? A terrorist fist jab? The gesture everyone seems to interpret differently. Well, by FOX s own insane equation (fist bump + slanderous spin = terrorist threat), Sen. Joe Lieberman is a terrorist. After all, Lieberman can be seen in this video giving a fist bump to someone at what looks to be a golf game, judging by Lieberman s polo shirt and khaki pants. Do we really believe that Joe Lieberman is a terrorist? Of course not! But if we were loyal FOX News viewers (perish the thought), we would have come away from Hill s show thinking that Obama was a terrorist over the innocent hand gesture he gave his wife upon clinching the Democratic nomination. And then we would believe that Lieberman, along with all of the people seen here in Media Matters gallery of fist bumps, were terrorists as well. We created this little spoof to highlight the dangers of FOX s slander. What s it going to take for FOX to be held to a higher standard of accuracy, or any standard for that matter?It s not as though FOX learned its lesson over the terrorist fist jab fiasco. They may have canceled Hill s show, but she s still with the network (and as FOX Attacks Jonathan Kim noted, there were other issues at play). No, FOX went right back to its old insulting antics and scare tactics. In the last few weeks alone, they have referred to Michelle Obama as Obama s baby mama ; falsely claimed Iranian missiles could hit the U.S; convinced a Tennessee Democrat that Obama was terrorist-connected ; and erased McCain saying he didn t really love America, then un-doctored the transcript to make it seem as though nothing was amiss. Clearly, it is up to us to hold FOX accountable. One of the saddest parts of all of this is that FOX tainted a truly genuine moment in which a presidential candidate was making history in our country. Obama s fist bump epitomized his whole campaign message of change, or as the Washington Post called it, the first bump heard round the world. But thanks to FOX s smears, Obama is now reluctant to use that signature gesture. Yesterday, CNN reported that Obama refused to bump fists with a boy in Ohio, saying, If I start that ... His voice trailed off, but it was proof of just how toxic FOX can be.

"Man! I Feel like a Woman!" is a Grammy Award winning song by singer Shania Twain. It was the seventh country single released from Shania Twain's 1997 album Come on Over, while it was fourth to pop, and fifth to AC and International markets. It was written by Mutt Lange and Shania Twain. "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" was originally released to North American country radio stations in early 1999. "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" was the opening song on both the Come on Over Tour and the Up! Tour. The song won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 2000.[1] Twain headlined the Super Bowl XXXVII Halftime show, and opened her set with "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!". In 2006, the single was certified Gold by the RIAA for 100 000 digital downloads. "Man! I Feel like a Woman!" was used to comic effect in a 2004 Chevy Colorado TV commercial, in which a group of men are traveling in one of the vehicles, and one of them begins singing along very enthusiastically with Twain's recording (from the female narrative), much to the discomfort of his friends. (Chevrolet is a sponsor of the Country Music Association.) The song was also performed by American Idol winner Carrie Underwood during the fourth season. Britney Spears can be seen singing "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" in her movie Crossroads. Billboard reviewed the single favorably, calling it "country crossover at its best."[2] The music video for "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" was shot in New York City and directed by Paul Boyd. It was filmed on January 11 and debuted on March 3, 1999. The video is a role reversed version of Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love". The video won the MuchMoreMusic Video of the Year award at the MuchMusic Video Awards in 2000. I Feel Like a Woman!" debuted at number 29 the week of October 2, 1999, the highest debut of the week. The single spent 26 weeks on the chart and climbed to a peak position of number 16 on December 18, 1999, where it remained for one week. "Man! I Feel like a Woman!" became Twain's fifth consecutive top twenty single, however it was her first to miss the top ten. Twain's fifth most successful single on the Billboard Hot 100 is "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!". It debuted on April 17, 1999, at number 93. It spent 28 weeks on the chart and peaked at number 23 for one week on November 13, 1999. The song became Twain's seventh top forty single, it would have peaked higher if a commercial single was issued, however Mercury did not release one. The single would have also peaked higher if the song were released to Country, Pop and AC at the same time, instead of months apart, giving it an uneven chart climb. "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" peaked at number 18 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart. "Man! I Feel like a Woman!" became Twain's second consecutive number one in New Zealand, where it debuted at the top spot, and was certified platinum, making it her biggest single in that country. In France, it was her first and to date, only top ten single. In the UK, "Man! I Feel like a Woman!" became Twain's second highest selling single, being certified Silver. The song debuted, at its peak, on October 2, 1999 at number three, where it remained for two weeks. It remained in the top ten for another two weeks. It remained on the entire chart for 18 weeks.
