LOVING ONE ANOTHER Print This Post Print This Post By Pastor Gene Applegate 1 John 4:7-12 New American Standard Bible 7Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 10In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 2No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. No doubt, there is someone in your life that you have difficulty loving. This is not at all unusual; there are some people that are just hard to love. Christians are no different. Some of the greatest divisions and misunderstanding happen within the Christian community. We like to pass these situations off as personality conflicts or some kind of social difference. We often make excuses for not loving those as we know we should. There is a love that comes directly from God. Those who serve Him have received it. But, many are unable to apply it to others. There may be many reasons. Pride, jealousy or a vindictive spirit often hinder our ability to love. The above Scripture says it well. We are to let the love of God be manifested within us. In fact, the Scripture makes it very clear that we should love others because God first loved us. Indeed, God abides in us when we love others. If we do not love others then, God is not in us. It becomes much easier to show the pure love of God to others when we remember what God has done for us. He loved us when we were unlovely. He forgave our sin when we had no right to be forgiven. Eternal death was replaced by eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. When you have a hard time loving another, remember God s great love and mercy toward you. Isn t it time to extend God s love to others, as you remember HIs marvelous love and grace that has been so beautifully extended to you? Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to love others as you love me. You know that I have a very difficult time showing love to_________. I really want your love to be in me and I want to abide in you. Please let your Holy Spirit remind me of your great love within my life. Help me to love those who are unlovely, as you do. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Redeemer, Amen.

OVERTAKEN WITH BLESSING By Pastor Gene Applegate Deuteronomy 28:1-14 New American Standard Bible 1 Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the LORD your God: 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. 4 Blessed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. 7 The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways. 8 The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you. 9 The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. 10 So all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will be afraid of you. 11 The LORD will make you abound in prosperity, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you. 12 The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13 The LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully, 14and do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. This promise was given to all in the House of Israel. It is ours. We can claim it for our very own. Surely, the Lord cares for those of his kingdom. He will preserve and bless all who serve him faithfully. Let us be determined to abide in His promise and obey His statutes. His word is true and steadfast. It never changes. Prayer: Dear Almighty God, please help me to remember your precious promise to me. There are times that I grow discouraged and forget how wonderful it is to serve you. Help me to remember your commitment to me and help me to keep my commitment to you. I do want to be faithful to you always. May the Holy Spirit lead me in the path of righteousness, I pray in Jesus name. Amen.

LOSS=GREAT GAIN By Pastor Gene Applegate Matthew 19:29 The Holy Bible, King James Version 29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Our natural human reasoning often robs us of the bountiful blessings of Almighty God. It is so easy for us to rationalize every situation according to our natural understanding and intellect. We look at many situations that seem so unjust. Our instinct instantly evaluates the cost of any given situation, and then makes judgment based on the value of the cost. Is it worth it, we ask? As people of God, we must look beyond human reasoning and intellectual understanding. Our goal is set far beyond the limitations of our natural comprehension. We must remember that our reward will come as a result of faithfulness unto God. It is not dependent upon the response of either friend or enemy. Sometimes our commitment to the Heavenly Father may cost us things that are very close to our hearts. More than one person, who has been set apart by the Holy Spirit to serve God, has found themselves losing relationships that are very precious. In spite of all the directives we find in the Scriptures concerning our relationship with family, friends, even our enemies, we must remember that our allegiance and faithfulness to the Heavenly Father takes priority over everything else. This great covenant promise given unto us by the Lord Jesus Christ, is of great value. When misunderstanding and rejection comes our way because of our allegiance to God, we need not be discouraged. Our Lord and Redeemer understands the cost and the pain of such circumstances. He declares that everyone who has been required to choose between very precious relationships or possessions and being faithful to the call of God, will be rewarded an hundred fold. That means 100 times the cost that we have endured. Our loss should be looked upon as an investment in the perfect increase and blessing of God already reserved for his people. Rejoice and be glad. The cost is but a small thing compared to the beauty of God s perfect reward. Prayer: My Heavenly Father, my heart aches because of rejection and ridicule that I bear as I serve you. Sometimes I resent it. I find myself questioning the cost that I am forced to pay for being loyal to you. Please forgive me and help me to remember the great reward that awaits me. You really are more important to me than anything else. Help me to stay faithful. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

By Pastor Gene Applegate Luke 4:18-19 (New American Standard Bible) The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed, To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord. These wonderful words of Jesus, remind us of the purpose for which he came. We were in bondage. His sacrifice at the whipping post and the cross for our healing and redemption was motivated by our need for his compassion and ministry. His resurrection was certification that the Lamb of God had paid the sacrificial price required that we might be set free from the bondage of the law of sin and death. Surely, the Spirit of the Lord rested upon him. His anointing still touches us today. It is by His anointed spirit that the truth of God s deliverance is extended to this generation. Just as He ministered to those of his day, he ministers to us today. The good news of the Gospel enlightens us with truth and understanding. We live without condemnation and judgment for our misdeeds and sin. The bondage of our guilt is broken. We are no longer imprisoned by the forces of darkness and evil. God heals the broken hearts and the blinded spirit of those who will come to him. Spiritual oppression can no longer hold God s children in captivity. Forces of evil have no power to captivate the Redeemed of the Lord. Indeed, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has set us free. The truth of His Word and the anointing of His Spirit renew us daily. We have reaped the abundant victory of His resurrection. Let us walk in the victory of His anointing Spirit. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I have a tendency to forget what Jesus has done for me. Sometimes discouragement and unbelief try to steal my liberty. I fail to live uprightly in your presence. Please forgive me. I ask your anointed Spirit to rest upon me. Guide me into the fullness of your liberty. I pray all of this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

By Pastor Gene Applegate Jeremiah 33:3 (New American Standard Bible) 3 Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know. Most of us are constantly seeking answers. Life today has become so technical and complex that it leaves many of us wondering what questions to ask. Our mind is constantly seeking new insight and understanding. This is true of spiritual things as well. How often have we asked God about things that we do not understand? We want to know more about prophecy. Our mind is filled with curious questions about his Word, or how the talks to us. The search for His will and purpose is an ongoing process. Scriptures that we do not understand haunt us like an unsolved mystery. We want to understand more, to know the future and all of its ramifications. Our soul hungers for deeper insight into the ways of God. Our questions are endless. Surprising answers are available to us every day. God says to call upon him and he will answer us. He promises that he will shows great and wonderful things, mighty in nature, things that we do not know. Perhaps you ve asked Him such questions before, only to find that you did not understand his response. Or, maybe you didn t hear Him answer at all. Are you aware that God promised to answer us if we call upon him? Is it possible that we have limited His answers to the realm of our present understanding? God wants to reveal himself and his promises to his people. He wants to share his plans for us, to reveal his glorious ways and his powerful abilities. He wants us to ask, to seek and diligently wait upon him, for surprising revelations and answers that we do not know. Surely, He delights in opening our understanding of his truth. Be encouraged to call upon Him. Don t hesitate to ask Him to reveal the mysteries of his wonderful Word. Let him stretch our mind and spirit to accept those mighty things that we do not yet know. With His help, we can experience a new and exciting life filled with surprising answers every day. He said, Call on me and I will answer . After we call, we must listen carefully. What we hear may amaze us. Prayer: Thank you, Father. I am so blessed to have the freedom to approach you with my curious questions. I want to know more of you every day. There are so many things that I want to understand. Help me to open my mind and my heart to receive the great and mighty things that you wish to show me. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen By Pastor Gene Applegate Deuteronomy 31:6 (New American Standard Bible) 6 Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Most everyone has enemies. Whether young or old, we re confronted with those who would intimidate us and do us harm. As Christians, we must remember that we are in spiritual warfare. Our ungodly enemy would love to destroy us. He often uses people to do his dirty work. Those who love the ways of darkness and evil are constantly seeking to inflict us with pain and defeat. It is against our nature, as Christians, to think of such things. Nevertheless, the reality exists. Our opposition may seem very insignificant at times. It is often disguised in insincere friendship or acts of apparent kindness. Many have been deeply wounded by those who exercise such despicable characteristics. Then, there are those who are openly adversarial. They rant and rave. Their actions are designed to intimidate or destroy. They love to impose fear upon those who would dare take a position of righteousness. They hate the light of God s Holy Spirit. They love the ways of evil. Lying deception coupled with intimidation is their greatest tool. Their pathway is filled with destruction. We must be strong and courageous. We have no reason to fear for tremble. Surely our Lord God is always with us. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He will deliver us from those who would oppress and destroy, just as surely as he delivered the children of Israel from their bondage in Egypt. Let us remember that God is constantly with us. Our Lord and Savior has conquered the enemy through his death and resurrection. He sent his Holy Spirit to lead and protect us. We are never alone. He is always with us. He never fails to protect his own. His strength and ability is imparted to his people. Faith and courage belong to us. The enemy cannot overcome us. We are held in the hollow of God s hand. Nothing can tear us away from Him. We can face every threat with bold confidence. Our Heavenly Father always delivers his own. Praise his name. Prayer: Dear Lord, it is so wonderful to feel your presence and protection every day. I sometimes lean upon my understanding and try to walk in my own ability. Fear and timidity overtakes me. I want to be courageous and fearless. Help me to remember that you re always with me. I pray in Jesus name. Amen

YOUR FATHER REMEMBERS By Pastor Gene Applegate Deuteronomy 4:31 New American Standard Bible 31 For the LORD your God is a compassionate God; He will not fail you nor destroy you nor forget the covenant with your fathers which He swore to them. Discouragement often sets in when trials of the day seem to be overwhelming. Our daily life is filled with frustrations and uncertainties. Hope fades in the face of the insurmountable difficulties that so often confront us. The enemy tries to put us on a guilt trip. Every weakness and shortcoming is brought to mind. Failure for which we long ago repented, become sharp images pulled up from our memory storage. The accusatory finger of our enemy points at us with condemnation. The day certainly seems less than victorious. Rejoice, oh House of Israel! Look unto the Lord! We do not live by feeling. Neither, are we to surrender to condemnation. The Lord our God, is a compassionate God. Though our failures are many and our inadequacy is apparent, our Heavenly Father is compassionate to his people. He will never fail us nor will he destroy us. In fact, he has promised to do the opposite. He reminds us that the Covenant that he made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is in full effect. His promises in that Covenant are extended to every member of the House of Israel. Those who are redeemed can lay claim to every one of them. Be encouraged to cast all of your care upon the Lord. He is faithful and true. He knows your need, pain and sorrow. Reach out to Him! Turn unto him for strength and help. He will receive you with open arms and tender mercies. Seek Him, and he will lead you into the precious valley of sparkling streams and peace. Remember, He is a compassionate Lord. He is very gracious and merciful to those who come to him in true submission and repentance. Reach out to him now! Prayer: My Dear Heavenly Father, I am keenly aware of my shortcomings. I have failed you often. The enemy is trying to overwhelm me with guilt and condemnation. I know that my hope and faith rests in You. I know that Jesus offered himself as the ultimate and final sacrifice for my shortcomings and sin. Forgive me. Renew me with your Spirit. I claim all of the promises of your Covenant as my own. I shall walk in strength and courage this day. I pray in Jesus name. By Pastor Gene Applegate Psalm 149 (New American Standard Bible) 1 Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. 2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker; Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King. 3 Let them praise His name with dancing; Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre. 4 For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation. 5 Let the godly ones exult in glory; Let them sing for joy on their beds. 6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, 7 To execute vengeance on the nations And punishment on the peoples, 8 To bind their kings with chains And their nobles with fetters of iron, 9 To execute on them the judgment written; This is an honor for all His godly ones. Praise the LORD! David knew the power of praise and singing. He also had great insight into God s plans for the future. This writing is both a praise offering, and a prophetic declaration of things to come. Praise and singing is a tremendous weapon of war. Ultimate victory belongs to His people. Let us rejoice as we fight the battle of life with all of its complexities and evil. Our God reigns! Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to be filled with joy. Give me a singing heart. I know that I can combat the enemy by praising you, my blessed Redeemer. Help me to use the two edged sword of your Word to defeat the evil onslaught brought against me. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.

Lying Evangelist Exposed! This shows how Bentley Works.
from YouTube :: Tag // second life July 19, 2008
What you see in this video is how Todd Bentley works. Hugh Marjoe Ross Gortner, generally known as Marjoe Gortner (born January 14, 1944 in Long Beach, California), is a former evangelical minister who first gained a certain fame in the late 1940s and early to mid 1950s when he became the youngest ordained preacher at the age of four, and then outright notoriety in the 1970s when he starred in an Oscar-winning, behind-the-scenes documentary about the lucrative business of Pentecostal preaching. The name "Marjoe" is a combination of the names "Mary" and "Joseph". When Marjoe was three, his father, a second generation evangelical minister, noticed his son's talent for mimicry and overall fearlessness of strangers and public settings. His parents claimed Marjoe had received a vision from God during a bath and began training him to deliver sermons, complete with dramatic gestures and emphatic lunges. By the time Marjoe was four, his parents arranged for him to perform a marriage ceremony for a film crew from Paramount studios, referring to him as "the youngest ordained minister in history." Like much in Marjoe's early life it is hard to say for sure who exactly ordained him, if his father ordained him, or if he was even ordained at all. Until the time he was a teenager, Marjoe and his parents traveled the rural United States, holding revival meetings. As well as teaching him scriptural passages, Marjoe's parents also taught him several money-making tactics, involving the sale of supposedly "holy" articles at revivals which promised to heal the sick and dying. By the time Marjoe was sixteen, he later estimated, his family had amassed maybe three million dollars; shortly after his sixteenth birthday, Marjoe's father absconded with the money, and a disillusioned Marjoe left his mother for San Francisco, where he was taken in by and became the lover of an older woman. Marjoe spent the remainder of his teenage years as an itinerant hippie until his early twenties, when, hard pressed for money, he decided to put his old skills to work and re-emerged on the evangelical circuit with a charismatic stage-show modeled after those of contemporary rockers, most notably Mick Jagger. Marjoe made enough to take six months off every year, during which he returned to California, surviving on the previous six months' earnings. In the late 1960s, Marjoe suffered a crisis of conscience -- in particular about the threats of damnation he felt compelled to weave into his sermons -- and resolved to make one final tour, this time on film. Under the pretense of making a documentary on the evangelical and non-denominational faiths, Marjoe assembled a documentary film crew to follow him around the Southern United States during 1971; unbeknownst to everyone else involved -- including, at one point, his father -- Marjoe gave "backstage" interviews to the filmmakers in between sermons and revivals, explaining intimate details of how he and other ministers operated. After sermons, the filmmakers were invited back to Marjoe's hotel room to tape him counting the money he collected during the day. The resulting film, Marjoe, won the 1972 Academy Award for best documentary. After leaving the revival circuit, Gortner then attempted to break into both Hollywood and the recording industry. He cut an LP with Columbia Records, entitled "Bad, but not Evil" (Gortner's description of himself in the documentary), which met with poor sales and reviews. Gortner began his acting career with a featured role in The Marcus-Nelson Murders, the 1973 pilot for the Kojak tv-series. The following year saw him featured in the disaster film Earthquake as a psychotic National Guardsman, and in the television movie Pray for the Wildcats. During the late 1970s, Marjoe attempted to self-finance another film, this time a pseudo-fictional drama about an evangelist con-man and based in part on his real-life experiences. The film started shooting in New Orleans, Louisiana, but went bankrupt less than 6-weeks into production. The film was never completed. Gortner was married briefly to Candy Clark, from 1978-1979. Gortner's most memorable film performance was as the psychopathic, hostage-taking drug dealer in Milton Katselas's 1979 screen adaptation of Mark Medoff's play When You Comin' Back, Red Ryder?, also starring Peter Firth, Lee Grant, and Hal Linden. Gortner reappeared a few years later, starring in several B-movies such as Starcrash and hosting an early-1980s reality TV series called Speak Up America before ending his movie career in 1995.
