In this video, I give my thoughts and a brief walkthrough of Kwippy. Kwippy is a micro/nanoblogging platform which mimicks a lot of the features of Twitter. What separates Kwippy from the crowd is their lack of 140 character limitation, IM status support, comment notification system, their openness regarding the system's architecture. I have been a Kwippy user for only a day now so I'm not the expert on what it can and can't do. I have noticed some issues that may deter other users and I have shared those with the author of the application. Kwippy is currently invite only and I have less than 20 invites remaining. It's a way for friends and co-workers to simply share their digital stuff in a social network environment. As it happens, Pownce celebrates its one-year birthday — today! I can't make it, but the Pownce birthday party is in San Francisco tonight. When I interviewed Leah, I got a tweet from Jason Pontin, editor in chief and publisher of Technology Review, telling Leah thanks for posing for the magazine's July-August cover. It's now out, with a cover story on social networks. Currently she is co-hosting Tekzilla. I asked Veronica how she did it. She says, I think the most important thing is to cross-promote between networks. I obviously use different networks for different reasons, and so attracting people from one place (like Twitter) to another (like Flickr or Facebook) is relatively easy if you have good content to show them.
