Turn Off the Water!
from Planet Bonehead May 16, 2008
In our first animated jingle, the Boneheads teach us that kids really do have the power to make a difference and start saving our planet right now. One simple thing we can all do is to turn off the water when you brush your teeth. You'll save about 2 gallons every time you brush.Saving water also saves energy - the energy used to collect, treat and pump it. This, in turn, cuts down on the greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere and fights global warming. That s right, you can do all that by simply turning off the water while brushing your teeth. See, it s easy to be a planet protector. So act now and make planet Earth a great place to live. After all, it s your planet too!

Gibbons
from Planet Bonehead March 22, 2008
There are almost as many species of primates as there are days in the year. And each species of primate is unique and special. They range in size from the tiny pygmy mouse lemur that weighs about an ounce to the gorilla weighing up to 600 pounds! Each of the IPPL member organizations devote themselves to conservation and protection of primate species native to their area, or to primates imported into their area that need sanctuary. Dr. Shirley McGreal devotes her sanctuary in South Carolina to the rescue and care of the smallest of the ape family, the gibbon, the acrobats of the southeast Asian forests.Caring about and respecting wildlife is the right thing to do. We re grateful to people like Dr. McGreal who have kept their promise to the primates. The solution to threatened and endangered species seems simple: Let primates remain in their natural habitat where they can happily sing, swing, forage for food, and raise their young. If we can allow them to do this, these precious primates will be around for many years to come.

In this episode, we will explore some of the lesser-known habits and habitats of frogs and toads. We will also explore a new threat to frogs and amphibians that is capable of wiping out thousands of species of these beloved and essential creatures.Luckily, with the help of Planet Bonehead, and people like you all over the world, a consortium of scientists, biologists and wildlife experts, who are members of Amphibian Ark, have taken on a huge task that will save countless species of frogs and toads from extinction.Amphibian species are becoming extinct at a pace faster than anything we have ever experienced, and we need to spread the word. If we lose thousands of amphibian species, it will have an effect on our environment and on species all the way up the food chain.

Bats
from Planet Bonehead December 04, 2007
Winged mammals of the darkness vacuum the night sky, each gliding body consuming hundreds and hundreds of insects a night. Foraging all night long, they return to their roosts before sun-up. And then they retire hanging upside down, shrouding themselves from the day by wrapping leathery wings around their tiny bodies. There are almost one thousand species of these nocturnal flying mammals we call bats. Yet for all their numbers, bats are the most misunderstood of all creatures. Bat World Sanctuary in Mineral Wells, Texas, and its founder Amanda Lollar, are out to change the bad rap bats have gotten in the past. At Bat World Sanctuary, not only is Amanda dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of bats, but also to educating the public on the importance of bats in our ecosystems. Fed so many untrue myths about bats, many people fear them and regard them as nothing more than flying rodents mice and rats with wings. It took one little bat named Sunshine, to teach Amanda Lollar how wrong that is.

Stars
from Planet Bonehead September 14, 2007
Have you ever looked up into the night sky and wondered how far it reaches, and how it all began? Have you ever wondered what part we play on this tiny, beautiful planet? Or even about where all the different matter and energy that created our planet Earth come from? Scientists and astronomers who have studied our universe have developed theories about the its beginnings. They tell us that we, like everything else in the universe, are the results of the explosions of billions upon billions of stars.
