*QUICKTIME *Phone This is the first in a series of stories capturing the first annual Old Glory Run held in Cold Spring, Minnesota. Over 700 runners participated in the 5K and 1K races. This story teaser of the event captures ROCORI graduate Mike Schneider who sings the Star Spangled Banner and also the start of the 5K race. My house rings with the rockinâ sound-track of Guitar Hero III ... except when Iâm playing. Then it sort of grinds along like a snail on a cheese grater. For those of you unfamiliar with the Guitar Hero video game franchise -- both of you -- let me fill you in. Guitar Hero is a game in which you can rock out just like Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix or Peter Tork ... if any of them had played a plastic guitar with brightly-colored buttons and no strings. Clever players are rewarded with simulated applause from the simulated crowd in the simulated rock club. Bad players...well, until I played, my family didnât know that the simulated crowd could boo you off-stage in a very real way. My performance was so bad the game refused to let me finish. I had to hand the little plastic guitar to another (better) player. I found this a little odd because in High School I was an absolutely awesome air guitar player. I used my Logitech ClickSmart 510 digital camera/webcam to record the video onto the hard drive. The colors aren’t the best because the camera sucks. I recorded for over an hour while I washed the dishes and cooked supper.

Army helicopters and Air Force jets are constantly flying over the house. Ever since I can remember every time I hear one coming over I jump to my feet, rush to the window to look for it in the sky. I don’t know why. I guess they are fascinating. This video is of a large helicopter flying over with some of the best audio in the background.

Later this month, there will be informational meetings that are open to the public regarding County Road 138. As many Rockville citizens know, there are also a couple of projects taking place on Broadway St. that will be continuing through the summer, one of which is the completion of the ROCORI Trail. Cold Spring City Administrator Larry Lahr reminds us that it’s not too early to pick up your tickets for the Hometown Pride Days Concert. Tickets are $25 and the proceeds are going toward helping the Cold Spring Fire Department purchase a new truck. The concert will be held at the Gluek (Cold Spring Brewery) Distribution Center. Now that spring is here, Richmond citizens are also asked to please take care of any items on their property that may not supposed to be there. LABELLE, FL. -- Sources say ongoing inspections are underway by Federal agencies looking at the operations of watermelon growers, looking for farm and worker violations.Agencies allegedly involved in the site inspections include the Department of Labor and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
