from Veracifier August 24, 2008
Your Daily Politics Video Blog: Does John McCain question Obama's patriotism? Of course not! Why, McCain told us so himself! Not if you're John McCain. We take a look at McCain's Patriotism Two-Step -- and the media's general failure to hold him accountable for it -- in today's episode of TPMtv.

Pompous Pro America Cartoon about Free Enterprise System
from Revver - american Videos August 21, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Thu, 21 Aug 2008 12:39:03 -0800 Duration: 70Meet King Joe is a classic animated capitalist propaganda film from the 1940s. The agenda is convincing discontented workers of the time that American business was the best in the world and because of it, American workers were king of all the workers. As evidence of this, the film touts American factory machinery as being so efficient that American workers create the best products at the lowest prices, which allows them to stretch their wage farther in the marketplace. American workers also have the shortest working hours (also due to the wondrous machinery). The main character and narrator of the film, Joe, a worker in overalls, spouts bizarre statistics such as Americans own 92% of the worlds bathtubs and almost every refrigerator ever made, in order to prove the point that American workers can afford a higher standard of living than those in any other country. Joe is shown sitting on top of a machine that spits out cars, televisions, and washing machines with no help from him ...

The Bill of Right Equated with Capitalism! Wacked Out Film
from Revver - american Videos August 20, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 20 Aug 2008 13:54:59 -0800 Duration: 52This fantastic 1954 animated film uses anthropomorphized dollar bills, a money-sucking tax monster, and other fun characters to illustrate how our free-enterprise economy is the key to individual success and prosperity for every American. Sponsored by the United States Chamber of Commerce, the true agenda of this film paints communism as detrimental to our nations health, and it spends a lot of time trying to convince the American audience that spending money, paying a modest amount in taxes, and investing hard-earned dollars are patriotic and All American actions. In fact, it even links the Bill of Rights to capitalism and basically equates consumption with freedom. This film was awarded the Freedom Foundations gold honor medal as "the best film developed in the United States during 1954 to further a better understanding of the American way of life."

Dumb Lecturer with Stupid Props Talking about America & God
from Revver - american Videos August 20, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 20 Aug 2008 13:54:59 -0800 Duration: 52This is a video of a touchstone boastful 1950s lecture on America and what a great nation it is. During the cold war, propaganda of this type was common and this is a superb example. For instance, the professor explains that the three foundations of American success are faith in God, a constitutional government, and capitalism. Dr. Ganus further explains how these three ideals are shown in American values. The film focuses on freedom. American's who have the freedom to work in a profession of their choosing are better for it. Many citizens of other nations are not allowed such a privilege. Freedom to dream allows Americans to reach their full potential and happiness. This film, which borders on xenophobia and jingoism, is the perfect example of mainstream 1950's values that promote an idealized, heterogenous America.

Kobe Bryant on Patriotism
from Wizbang August 17, 2008
Chris Collinsworth interviewed Kobe Bryant in Beijing and one of the questions was about Bryant's patriotism and where it came from. The video is courtesy of Ms. Underestimated. Click the image to watch and, as you do, pay attention to Collinsworth's attitude. He looks like he's about to burst out laughing at the thought that someone would actually still have feelings of patriotism for our country. Bryant, on the other hand, felt honored to represent the USA in the Olympic games and was proud to say so. Good for Kobe.

At Last! An Audience!
from The Spike Nesmith Rage Machine August 08, 2008
In this premiere episode for Radio Six International, our hero discusses... waaait for it... waaaaiiiiit for iiiiit.... the American Presidential Election! (well, YOU fill an hour.) Was Obama's trip to Europe and the middle east eclipsed, in the opinion of people who can actually vote for him, by McCain's podunk tour of the flyover states? He chastises the British media for their pronunciation of "Barrick" Obama. And write down the date! Spike says something complimentary about George Bush! This one's a keeper! There's the price of oil (be nice, this is a new audience, they've not heard this guff before) and could it be? Really? A politician doing something nice? Hmm... maybe, maybe not. Britain's Channel 4 incurs the wrath of the regulatory body for showing a skewed anti-global warming documentary, and what's the right way to respond to pokes and requests on Facebook? Speaking of, joineth thou the Rage Machine Facebook Group. NOW! RIGHT NOW! DO IT! http:/...

Fantastically Racist Movie about Diversity! 1950s Racism
from Revver - american Videos August 06, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 06 Aug 2008 13:53:36 -0800 Duration: 55Who Are the People of America is a mind blowing classic film from the 1950's that paints America as a utopian land of diversity and happiness. The narrator waxes poetically about how Americans owe many of their favorite things to the rest of the world, including such insignificant things as spaghetti, baseball, music, and hot dogs. The film highlights this diversity by saying, These are some of the things we share as Americans. For we have become Americans through the process of sharing. Expressing hope for the future, Playing together, growing together, learning together the narration misses the irony of these words as we see scenes of Southern plantations with slaves working in the fields, and shots of Native Americans, two groups of people who did not share, but were instead exploited. This film serves as a shocking exposure to racism in America in the mid 20th century. The great American melting pot was an idea that existed long before different races and cultures became ...
