DUBLIN, IRELAND (Team Geared Up) The rat race comes to Belfast! Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the 8 hour urban adventure around the city. I ll be rooting for my good friends Karen Duggan, Shane O Rourke and Paul Mahon! I hear Rick and Davy might be taking part too? From Discover Northern Ireland: On 9th August, visit City Hall, the hub of activity for the Belfast Rat Race. Hundreds of Rat Racers will line up there for an eight hour day of action; running, cycling, abseiling and cycling around Belfast. This is a team-based urban sports challenge – part physical and part mental and, although the courses are kept secret until the day, it is anticipated that participants will travel through the Titanic Quarter, on the River Lagan and around Cave Hill before scurrying to the finish line back at City Hall. For onlookers, the grounds of City Hall will be transformed into an event village with live music, adventure attractions and live event commentary so you can keep track of the rat packs.
