This year marks the 25th anniversary of the beginning of the HIVAIDS epidemic in the United States. To date, 38 million people worldwide are living with HIV, and Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for the greatest burden with 25 million people infected on that continent. Dr. James Curran, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, gives us a historical perspective on the global pandemic.
