Electronic Musician Kirsty Hawkshaw and Second Life Filmmaker Rob Wright Collaborate We are launching an artist-in-residence program to discover and celebrate the work of emerging artists in the virtual world and social network space.The first artist-in-residence will be UK-based Rob Wright, known as "Robbie Dingo" in Second Life. Wright has won widespread acclaim for a short film a 3D interpretation of Van Gogh's "Starry Night" that was produced entirely in Second Life. His first project commissioned by Millions of Us is a film interpretation of the song "Meteors" by Kirsty Hawkshaw, a prominent figure in electronic music known for her distinctive vocals and her work with the band Opus III. This video can be seen above. Millions of Us' artist-in-residence program will sponsor a number of artists in the coming year. The artists will collaborate informally with the Millions of Us creative team and work independently on their own projects. The relaxed atmosphere, unstructured program, and technical resources provided by Millions of Us are intended to spur unconventional results. "Millions of Us is committed to finding the best talent in virtual worlds and all new media in order to bring them to a larger audience," said Douglas Gayeton, Chief Creative Officer. A little tourist stop after a very hot run!

I am hoping to see some video from the conference panel I was on last month in Singapore: "Building Businesses in Virtual Worlds". Hopefully more forthcoming. For now, here is an intro to my colleagues that were on the panel.

After coming back from my travels in Asia, I have been introduced to some amazing opportunities. It is easy to see the allure in them. I've decided to take a step back, recalibrate, and focus on the core business we have while planning the strategy for Asia 2008.Our client's satisfaction is the core of our success.

I've got a ton of video from my two week biz dev trip to Asia. Here is the first of many as I rolled through Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul.One common thread among all three cities on this trip: humidity!

At the launch party, the mystery of "What's In the Blimp?' began to unfold. It was revealed that 10 eggs had been hidden throughout Second Life, each containing a logic puzzle. Players wore cyber arm bands with 10 colored lights -- when they solved a puzzle, a light ignited. Once all 10 were lit, the armband unlocked the blimp to reveal it's secret. . . . .
