My Life Fast Forward
from YouTube :: Tag // second life July 02, 2008
Idea: The idea is to represent how fast life goes by, and before we realize, a significant part of it has already passed. Also, the format of the presentation I chose reflects somewhat the way human memory recalls past events -- in particular the psychological phenomenon called flashbacks, in which an individual has a sudden, extremely brief, usually vivid, recollection of a past experience. Method: The technique I will use will have a chronological sequence of photographs changing at a rapid pace (about 12 per second). It will not only include photographs of the subject (me), but also objects and locales connected with my experiences -- from anything I thought significant at that moment in my life to just everyday objects and peculiar bits and pieces. The rapid procession of photographs will slow down for a moment on certain photographs and just flash a date, as to provide the viewer with at least some idea of the time frame of events. Effect:The effect I will be trying to create in the viewer would be somewhat of a sensory (well, visual in this case) overload, similar to the phenomenon of the intense whole-life flashback that many claim to experience when having a sudden near-death experience ("My whole life passed before my eyes"). Benefits: In this fast-paced world, my presentation will be a very efficient way to communicate the story of my life visually in a very short amount of time. It will give all viewers a feel of what my life has been, and for those who want a more detailed look at it every consecutive viewing will reveal more and more detail that they've missed during the previous viewing. Drawbacks: The obvious drawback of the project is the enormous amount of photo material needed to make the presentation effective -- I do not imagine it to be much more than a minute long, but even for such a span I need about 600-700 photographs. Also, the presentation might be harmful for some seizure-prone viewers (very rare). Taking it further: As the assignment requires my future hopes and dreams also be incorporated in the visual bio, I would take the underlying concept of the "flashback" further -- by introducing the "flashforward" -- as I define it -- an artistic phenomenon, in which an individual has a sudden, extremely brief, usually vivid, imagination of a desirable future experience. from ATW - Working In The Theatre April 24, 2008
The panel of performers talk about their training and when they decided to become actors. "Power Plays" co-stars Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss talk about working together at Northwestern. Both Billy Crudup and Dana Reeve ("More To Love: A Big Fat Comedy") pursued Master of Fine Arts degrees in order to teach as well as act. In England, Roger Rees ("Nicholas Nickleby") trained primarily by observation. James Naughton ("Chicago", Williamstown Theatre Festival) discusses the Blue Light Theatre Company, started by his son Greg Naughton, where Billy Crudup is in "Oedipus". The panel also discusses what they've gained from working with brilliant directors, being both director and actor, and preparing for auditions.

from YouTube :: Tag // lost April 10, 2008
got this video from the school computers when i tried to compress it from there and it totally crashed...iMovie...YES!...goooood times. i was on the phone with the mac support people yesterday about my problems at home with iMovie and at one point he said in my response to the weirdness of the program crashing randomly..."well, you know, it's computers." and i thought what a strange world we are in...how there is really no absolute or defined reality...how life itself in this physical universe is just like that..."well, you know, random and unpredictable.) here i was expecting some black and white answer and his response just made me laugh... cheers to you all........O.
