We had a great time at the Meet The Vloggers Dinner at the Thirsty Bear in San Francisco during MacWorld 2006.  I hate to say that I forgot this guy's name, but I remember he is on the Flock team.  We were chatting about projects and he brought up the MashPit event coming up on January 17th in the Bay Area.

We recorded this on the morning that I left for the first meet-the-vloggers to be held anywhere besides the east or west coast, in the Chicago Michigan Avenue Apple Store. I rode with Bill Streeter who does LoFi St. Louis. Also participating in the presentation were: Josh Leo, David Meade, Mason Dixon who does Motion Graphics Chicago, and Nick Schmidt.

Something Ryanne said in an email reminded me that we need to think more about videoblogging for vids.  Lots of issues there.  Here's a moment from the Meet The Vloggers (the new MTV!) last friday in Los Angeles at The Grove Apple store. So how do we present videoblogging to kids?  Josh Leo and others have posted related articles at We Are The Media.

Gena gave a fantastic presentation in the Apple store at The Grove in LA on September 21, 2005. Approximately 10 minute MP3 (8.6Mb). There is a tiny gap at around 6 min 37 sec where I stupidly turned off the camera for a moment and then restarted. It was really dark, making for a poor image, and so I just extracted the audio portion.

CLICK TO WATCH VIDEO. Our vlogging presentation (pix by Steve Rhodes)at the San Francisco Apple store was a blast. The audience seemed really interested in learning more about vlogging and becoming actively involved (especially a future musician vlogger in the second row who asked a lot of great questions). Thanks to Laura Sydell from NPR and Barb Dybwad for covering the event. This video is just a highlight mix of vlogs that some of us liked. It was used to introduce the audience to vlogging. Unfortunately, it doesn't include all the great videos out there.
