I (Skander) came up with the idea to stage another embarassing mistake from the Dutch Intelligence Agency (AIVD). Recently they have had a history of losing valuable and sensitive information on e.g. usb flash drives. So I wanted to create some conspiracy theory of which fragments of the conspiracy would be formed into a set of fake documents that were to be put onto a usb flash drive. Then I got the idea of giving the potential finder a more cinematic and suspenseful by putting the flashdrive in a suitcase with handcuffs attached to it, and to spill some fake blood on the other end of the cuffs.Unfortunately i couldn't get hold some handcuffs. Also, the idea of creating a fake conspiracy sounded very cool but turned out hard to make it convincing enough. I teamed up with Vincent Pasveer and we decided to create a hoax conspiracy theory about the government wanting to put fluoride in the Rotterdam drinkwater supply. In the US there already exist similar conspiracy theories, some even claiming that the chemical fluoride disrupts a person's ability to think freely as an individual, becoming more obedient to the government. We created several pages of a fictional document containing the conspiracy's details, including fake censoring and sattelite photo's. The files were transferred onto a flashdrive and we put the suitcase containing the flashdrive in front of my apartement building's front door. This way we could film my own tv, tuned to the building's cctv entrance camera. It didn't take long for the first group of people to arrive to the building, even though it was already 3am. As you can see they took it with them without thinking it might have been a bomb or something. Clearly the people aren't quite that scared about a potential terrorist attack.
