Episode 15 of our family podcast, posted on March 28th, 2008. Our six year old son Luke had his kindergarten graduation ceremony last week. Check out this amazing little nugget of Japanese culture- a finely produced show put on for parents by their little angels!

Our mission is to build a truly authentic Montessori School Community that is respectful and culturally diverse. Part of the Montessori curricula involves developing a tradition of giving to others. CMS will support and participate in a larger community effort to document the many heroes that have lived this historical district and dedicated their lives to child endeavors. CMS plans to provide scholarships to the children who have completed their preschool and kindergarten Montessori programs at the NRC Montessori Preschool in neighboring Fulton Hill. 1. Even the youngest students have full access to a very strong core curricula that is completely integrated into: * science * geography * history * botany * biology * research 3. Students learn by manipulating materials (moving from simple to complex) and interacting with others. These meaningful experiences are precursors to abstract understanding of ideas. 4. The classroom has a very dynamic social environment, much like the one you work in now. This allows children to learn successful social skills. This is one of the true predictors of future successes. Hours after a new poll showed her falling behind for the first time in Iowa, Hillary Clinton launched a blistering personal broadside on rival Barack Obama, calling him a phony and a double-talker. "You gotta ask yourself, 'Who's really committed here [and] who's doing it just for political reasons?'" Asked if Obama has a character problem, she said, "It's beginning to look a lot like that. You know, it really is." The Iowa caucuses, which kick off the election, are Jan. 3, and Clinton signaled that the next month will be a brutal fight. "Now the fun part starts," she said. Obama dismissed her attacks as desperation in the wake of the new Des Moines Register poll showing Obama surging ahead of her in the survey for the first time, 28% to 25%. "I think that folks from some of the other campaigns are reading the polls and starting to get stressed and issuing a whole range of outlandish accusations," Obama said in Des Moines. "Washington insiders might think throwing mud is 'fun,' but the American people are looking for leadership that can unite this country." Clinton whacked Obama on several fronts, bashing his lobbyist-funded political action committee and challenging his guts over health care - "Sen. Obama got to the brink and blinked." Her campaign even dredged up a kindergarten essay Obama wrote titled: "I want to be President" to argue that Obama is lying when he says he hasn't been planning a White House run for decades, like his rivals. Obama spokesman Bill Burton laughed that off. "I'm sure tomorrow they'll attack him for being a flip-flopper because he told his second-grade teacher he wanted to be an astronaut," he said. Significantly, when asked if Clinton had anything to say about John Edwards, who is running neck and neck with Clinton in the poll, she was all sweetness. Clinton touts herself as a tough political fighter, though she is quick to decry the "politics of personal destruction" and accuse her rivals of "piling on." While showing evident relish for the fight ahead, she added, "I would much rather be attacking Republicans and attacking the problems of our country, because ultimately that's what I want to do as President."
