Quicktime/Ipod Windows Flash Well today, marks my 2 year annivesary of Vlogging! It's been a great 2 years and I have met so many cool people both online and off line. I am looking forward to meeting more of you this upcoming year! This video is a bit silly and FAR different than what I orginally had planned and I didn't really like it at first, mainly because I thought my orginal idea was so much better, but then I happened upon the music and I ended up liking this piece. I really would like to thank all those who have dropped by and I hope that sometimes I was able to put a smile on your face or make you think for a minute....I have recieved far more than I could ever give back. It's been a wild ride and I can't wait to see what this new year will bring....(I hope, anyway....usually when I say stuff like that, it comes back to bite me in the....) Anyway Vlog On!! Some of the vloggers you see are Kent from Ask a Ninja, (like anyone doesn't know Kent) Lan from Noodle Scar, Veronica Blemont (Maholo Daily), Clintus McGintus, Jay Dedman, Ryanne Hodson, Irina Slutsky and Eddie Codel, Steve and Zadi and the guy in the underwear. The fantastic Hip Hop Violinist is Paul Dateh. I would like to do a special shout out to Gena, it was great to finally meet you! I had a great time and I know I am forgetting a ton of people I met. If you were there say "hey" I would love to hear from you! Also check out Susan's, David's and Eric's vlog, we spent the weekend together. From Greg Fox: This is my attempt at a naturalistic, astronomical approach to the "Harmony of the Spheres". The overwhelming majority of historical examples take a broadly astrological or mythological view of the solar system. My approach in "Carmen of the Spheres" is to try to literally hear the planets as they orbit the sun. Obviously 365.25 days is a good deal slower than the average sound wave!! However there is a wonderful principle in acoustics, at the very least for humans, and that is that when you double the speed of the wave, the "flavour" of the pitch remains the same. The implications of this are obvious for things like "octaves" - an F# is an F# is an F#. However we can only hear certain frequencies - broadly speaking something like 50hz (ie. a pressure wave hitting the ear drum 50 times per second) up to (depending on age and exposure to loud noise!) around 5000hz, perhaps higher. Meaningful musical inflections are available for much of this range to differing extents, with chordal harmony being possible from approximately 300hz up to approximately 2000hz. Once the trick of doubling the frequency takes the sound-wave outside what we humans can hear, we have to take nature's word for it that an F# is still an F#, but there's no reason to suppose that it's not equally true. Therefore if you have the planitary orbital period enough times, you should find the "pitch" of a planet orbiting the sun (or rather that pitch raised several (in the region of 36 to 40) octaves!! (Obviously this metaphor has limits: doubtless planets do not orbit with ABSOLUTE reliability, though perhaps the 'errors' in orbital period become "small enough" once the wave has been sufficiently sped up!!) Quciktime/Ipod Windows Flash Day 18 of NaVloPoMo this video I made today, is a far cry from what I thought I would be posting. I had something else in mind. But it's going to take a bit and I just wanted to post something. So I thought I could do a Lumiere, easy to do, easy to edit, etc. Well I then thought, 'hey I have some footage I was messing around with'...then I thought, 'hey why not do what Ryanne did and show me working?', then I thought, 'hey that could be my Lumiere', then I thought, 'but what if I'.....and so on and so on..and so you end up with this...I'm not even sure if I like it, but hey by tomorrow it will be gone.....but then again, I do like it, it's just everytime "I" like a video, no one else seems to so and every video I just "sorta" like everyone likes so maybe I don't want to like it because I want other people to like it?.....that's just crazy, right?....but what if...... Quicktime/Ipod Windows Flash Day 17 of NaVloPoMo sorry this post is longer than I thought it would be. I guess the dish is a bit harder to vlog than I thought! I show everyone my world famous Penne dish. I make this for everyone, I even made it for Jay when he came to visit. Anyway I hope you all like it and if you make the receipe, let me know how it turns out! Receipe: Chicken 2 chicken breasts cut into cubes 1 teaspoon of black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 1/2 teaspoon of italian seasonings 1 1/2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. mix together and then cook over high heat in Wok until done. Penne al Brandy 3 1/2-4 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil 4-5 cloves of garlic (minced) 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 teaspoon of basil 1 shot of Brandy 1 14.5 oz can of tomatos (peeled) 1 box of penne pasta parmesan cheese Put olive oil, garlic, peppers, salt and basil in sausepan, cook slowy of med-low heat for 5-10 minutes. Start water for pasta, continue cooking mixture until the water boils, then add the tomatos and juice to the mixture. Turn the mixture to low and add pasta to the boiling water. Cook for 8 minutes, then add the brandy to the mixture and cook for 2 more minutes. Drain pasta, (do not rinse) put the pasta back in the pot, add the mixture and let sit for 2 minutes. Quicktime/Ipod Windows Flash November is a weird month for me. I get very reflective, and like the other day when I got to thinking about my wife's brain tumor. This week I have been thinking alot about my maternal grandpa. I miss my grandpa......he died over 18 years ago but I still think about him a lot. We used to go fishing when I was a little kid, early morning before the sun even came up. They are some of my most cherished memories that I have. He wasn't just a grandpa to me.......Today was the first time I had went to his grave. He died when I was in the service over in Germany. I had actually been home a month prior and got to see him before he passed. If I loved him so much why did it take me so long to visit? .......I didn't want to have to say goodbye. I guess I thought that maybe by not going, that it wouldn't be real.....I know it's stupid....it's just how I felt. It's hard to sum up a person's life in a few minutes or even a few paragraphs.
