Zia's plane crash and its mysterious circumstances are fictionalized in Mohammed Hanif's novel "A Case of Exploding Mangoes" (2008) The President of Pakistan, General Zia-ul-Haq died in a plane crash on August 17, 1988, about which several conspiracy theories exist. After witnessing a tank parade in Bahawalpur, Zia had left the small town in Punjab province by C-130 Hercules aircraft. Shortly after a smooth take-off, the control tower lost contact with the aircraft. Witnesses who saw the plane in the air afterwards claim it was flying erratically. Directly afterwards, the aircraft nosedived and exploded on impact, killing General Zia and several other senior army generals, as well as American Ambassador to Pakistan Arnold Raphel and General Herbert M. Wassom, the head of the U.S. Military aid mission to Pakistan. A common suspicion within Pakistan, although with no proof, is that the crash was a political assassination carried out by the senior arm of the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or Soviet KGB. Other groups who have fallen under suspicion include the Afghan Communists and Shi'ite separatist groups. Other more direct accusation point the finger at rival India whose RAW intelligence agency have covertly carried out several assassinations within the country. But still many political and higher military figures openly say that this crash was actually an assassination carried by CIA to kill Zia and their own Ambassador, after they had done all the work ordered by USA so that American government could hide the facts about the Soviet-Afghan war. No evidence has come to light to prove a conspiracy, although several theories do exist. In the World Policy Journal[citation needed], John Gunther Dean, a former US ambassador to India, blamed the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, for orchestrating Zia's assassination in retaliation for Pakistan developing a nuclear weapon to counteract India, and to prevent Zia, an effective Muslim leader, from continuing to influence US foreign policy. General Hamid Gul, who would become the Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) after Zia's death, has also stated that the CIA was behind the plane crash[citation needed]. The FBI were delayed by the US State Department to investigate the scene and it was only a year later they were allowed in to investigate the deaths. Though a report on the crash was written, the FBI have refused to release it. The United States, India, followed by Afghanistan and the Soviet Union were the prime suspects. In addition, Zia had enemies at the top level within the government of Pakistan itself. Former prime minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto was accused of having rejoiced at Zia's death, because Zia had ordered her father, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto hanged. Also, Afghanistan under the Communist rule of Najibullah clearly wanted Zia dead, as Zia was aiding the Afghan Mujahidin who were fighting to overthrow Najibullah. The other question was how a nerve gas bomb could have, theoretically, gotten into the cockpit. The aircraft had been under 24-hour armed guard. Access to the aircraft was strictly controlled by the Pakistan military. It seemed impossible that someone could have sneaked in and placed the bomb there without the knowledge of persons inside the Pakistan armed forces. People have pointed to some senior dissatisfied generals of the Pakistan Army itself [1] (for example, Mirza Aslam Beg, who was scheduled to fly with Zia in this flight, but changed his plans at the last minute - He was later accused by Zia's son Ijaz-ul-Haq as being behind the attack), the United States, the Soviet Union, Israel, the Bhutto family, Al-Zulfiqar and even the Ahmadiyya sect as a potential suspect. Conspiracies about the deaths persist. Seeing him felt immense energy and spiritual ecstasy in my soul and spiritual entities, a similar spiritual ecstasy that I would feel and experience in the gathering of the 'Higher Realms'. I learnt that he could speak many languages. The young man told me, I am Jesus (son of Mary), I am in America, presently . I asked him, Where do you live? he replied, I neither had a home in the past nor now . When His Holiness Gohar Shahi was requested for further details of the meeting, His Holiness replied, What Jesus and I have discussed is a secret but I shall reveal it at an appropriate time in future . His Holiness Gohar Shahi states, A few days later, I visited Tucson (Arizona), where somebody showed me a photograph, as he was the same man who appeared in my room at the El Monte Lodge. I asked the owner of the photograph about its origin. He told me, Some people took photographs of some sacred places, surprisingly; this photograph of (Jesus) emerged from amongst the prints, when the film was processed. This man was neither seen nor photographed . I took the photograph of this young man (Jesus) and tried to match it with the one of many images on the Moon. I realised that the image on the photograph matched one of the images on the Moon. I confirm and verify that this is the true Image of Jesus . A magazine in America, recently published an article quoting Bible experts regarding the 'return of Jesus' and events leading up to the end of the world. Much of the information published, in particular secret Bible Prophecies released by the Vatican in Rome, and the opinions of experts coincide with this statement made by His Holiness Gohar Shahi.

He is the one who the walls of the Ka'ba broke open for his mother to go inside and give birth - when she gave birth to him she heared a voice telling her to name him Ali. He was still a young boy when he became the first Muslim after seeing the Prophet Mohammad on his way back from receiving his first revelations in the cave of Hira. When the Prophet was ordered by Allah to make his mission public - he gathered 40 members of his family and asked them: "Who would aid me in this cause, so that he would become my brother, my successor and the leader after me?" No one replied to the Prophet except Ali who was still a young boy at that time. Imam Ali defended the Prophet throughout his lifetime, when the men would run away in the battles leaving the Prophet alone with the enemies - Imam Ali would be the only one standing by and protecting the Prophet. No one dared approach Imam Ali in the battle field, he would sometimes cover his face so that the enemies would not run away from him. Allah the Almighty ordered that Imam Ali should marry Fatima the daughter of the Prophet Mohammad. Imam Ali is the father of the 11 Imams and successors of the Prophet after himself. Imam Ali was chosen by Allah and His Prophet to become the leader of the believers after the Prophets death. The Prophet died on the lap of Imam Ali - while the Imam was hitting his head and weeping. Imam Ali was the one who washed and buried the Prophet after his death. The Prophet said: "Ali is with the truth and the truth is with Ali." He also said: "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is the gate." He also said: "Whoever considers me his master, then Ali is also his master. May Allah befriend the friends of Ali, and be the enemy of his enemies." The Prophet also said: "I am leaving for you (after my death) two valuable and weighty things; the Quran and my family. If you adhere to both you will never go astray." The family of the Prophet is none other then Imam Ali, the Prophet's daughter Fatima, her two sons Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein, and the nine Imams from the offspring of Imam Hussein - the ninth being the alive Imam of our time (Imam Mohammad al-Mahdi), who has been alive and in hiding for over a thousand years waiting the order of Allah to reappear. When he reappears everyone will become Muslim, thus the promise of Allah in the Quran - that Allah will inherit the earth to His righteous servants will be fulfilled. May Allah include us with the soldiers of our Imam, and include us with the friends and followers of his grandfather Imam Ali - who will be the divider of mankind on the day of Judgement. He will take his friends and followers with him into paradise, and leave his enemies to burn in hell. The Prophet Mohammad, Imam Ali, Fatima, Imam Hassan, Imam Hussein and the nine Imams from the offspring of Imam Hussein will be the interceders with Allah for the believers - they will intercede with Allah and he will forgive the sins of the believers and grant them paradise. Love for the Prophet and his family is obligatory and an order from Allah as made clear in the Quran and the narrations. Why should we not love them when they only want to benefit us and be the causes of mercy and bliss. Thanks to Allah the Lord of the worlds.
