Quite a nice day for exotic power, and trains. First we see the H-KCKDEN with solid CSX power then we see the highlight of the day. The O-TOPDEN (Officer Special from Topeka, KS to Denver, CO). It has BNSF #9824 leading and its train includes: Red River Stevens Pass NS 3 Clayton Lake NS 13 Georgia NS 2 Carolina NS 1 Virginia Marias Pass Cajon Pass Snoqualmie Pass Columbia River Gerald Grimstein Lake Superior Mississippi river Valley View Mountain View Fred Harvey Trinchera Pass Raton Pass This train is headed to Denver for the Democratic National Convention. After it is done there it will go to the Republican National Convention as well. I forgot to make an announcement before I left, but I had took the week off from my work to railfan the BNSF Seattle Sub in Kelso/Longview, WA and visit relatives. I had got between 45 & 55 trains on my trip, here is one of them. Railfans, this will be my final clip I'll be posting for a week or 2, this is a Tribute to all the railfanning i've done along the Norfolk Southern Piedmont Division, including some of the videos posted and also the song You Don't Need Me , played in the commercials that debuted last year. All right railfans!! After waiting a few days to railfan, I finally get on out there, and sadly it is all black this time. NS #8929 is the head end and we got the #9628 and the #6550 on the 3rd. And we are back out Trackside Once more, and i'm starting out with the usual #204 headed Northbound, Charlie Hester our good pal on that Northbound is on that one, NS #9030 is leading, same thing. But trailing is UP #7883, the newest GEVO in the UP roster and built I think back in Late March, and the #5053. And The 4th one of the day is passing by, NS #172 with the #9219 head end passes in by with the usual 9200 series catfish with we kinda always see, Saturday was a 9800 series and from time to time Foreign Power can sometimes pop up. All Right railfans, Today was a rather nice day to be out Trackside, very sunny out there, and what makes it more sunnier, is today, we got lucky with 6 trains, 3 out of 6 had EMDs in the lead and this 1st one did, and this here is #214 running late this time, and we got a rare sighting on this one, I don't think i've ever seen an Intermodal led by an EX. CR SD50, and I've never had that happen before, i've seen them trailing before but not in the lead of Initermodals, I guess this is the return of older power on Intermodals, NS (EX.CR) #5435, #9936 & #6774 are this train's power, Bj's Pal PD is on this one and they running a little bit late, the good news is #204 was not Anulled and is at Cowpens when he passed by. All right railfans, you are in for a treat today, normally on a Friday, i'm usually bored, but today, we got the oppertunity to spend a 2nd Day in Belmont, as soon as I got here, #204 had cleared South Fork and it appears that he has the same SD70M I got in the lead of #212 back in January. NS #2625, #6612 & #8703 have a pretty long train to be exact.
