Demo Night 7/23/08
from The Wood Whisperer Woodworking Video Podcast July 25, 2008
This is an excerpt from the live Demo Night that took place 7/23/08. The topic was creating Greene & Greene style joint for the Gadget Station project. Its a long video, but lots of details were covered and numerous questions were thrown out by the chat room. This was our best turnout yet with 180+ viewers! This isn't exactly as fun as the live experience but its a close second for those who couldn't make it. Enjoy!

Where Can You Find Hi-Def Videos on the iPhone, iPod Touch?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 23, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed It s hard to get my attention these days with a glut of new products being released on a regular basis. mDialog got my attention quickly with their amazing marketing promotion. Thanks to them, we re doing a special giveaway for the Moderators in my chat room. In three easy steps, mDialog’s innovative mLoader software allows you to encode, describe and upload video of any size and length from your Mac or PC. Download it for free today and start enjoying these great features. Because the encoding and uploading is done locally on your PC or Mac, mLoader can go as fast as your computer can. We don’t believe in size limits, so go ahead and upload that 30 or 60 minute presentation, instructional video or independent film for the world to see. We can handle it! It’s your choice - mLoader allows you to instantly make your video optimized for viewing on desktops, iPods, iPhones and Apple TV’s. You no longer have to create multiple versions for each type. mLoader takes care of that for you. We’re committed to making your video look as good as possible on the web, and we use the MPEG-4 h.264 video codec to do so. Don’t worry if you don’t know what that means - once you’ve seen the video you’ll understand. With some services, there’s a wait after you’ve uploaded your video for it to be ready for viewing. With mDialog, it’s instantly available. We know that you may want to syndicate your content on as many other video services as possible. To make this easier, mLoader gives you the option to save a copy of your encoded video to your computer. This optimized file can then be uploaded to any service you like from your corporate intranet to the latest video sharing site. It is your content to do with as you please. So I open the box from mDialog, and begin reading the marketing letter. They said they wanted me to try this new app, and installed it on a brand-new iPod Touch. What?! They were nice enough to engrave it, even. It definitely got me looking at the product. The letter even said that there was a personalized video waiting for me on it. It s a personalized video from the founder of mDialog. I can t believe that they sent me an iPod Touch to get my attention! The mDialog site is definitely worth checking out. They are definitely very high-resolution. The site is easy to use and get around in, and the quality of what they re doing is amazingly good. So, what s that about a giveaway? You heard me right. We re going to use this iPod Touch to thank the Moderators in our chat room. They work many hours every day for absolutely nothing more than our thanks. They are what makes the live community work, and work well. They keep order in chat, and make sure that it s a good place for people of all ages to come to. So what do they have to do? Simple! The Ops and Halfops who wish to enter will each send Kat a little writeup of their most embarassing or funny moment involving using a computer. On Thursday afternoon, July 24th, Kat will upload each other those blurbs to my blog anonymously. There will be no one s name attached to them. We will then open up a poll in the blog, and ask all of you to vote for your favorite. Then, on my birthday Saturday night, July 26th, we will reveal who the winner is, based on the most number of votes. So stay tuned, and check back here to the blog on Thursday so that you can cast your vote! Thanks again to all of the moderators for all of the work you do. You guys rock! Can a Cool USB Beverage Chiller Keep Your Drinks Cold?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 23, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed In front of me is a small, light-weight device. I ve seen it advertised in the past. When I ask people to send me ideas for cool USB products, I keep getting this one sent to me. It s a USB beverage chiller. I was skeptical as to whether one of these would work or not, so I decided to try it for myself. Once it s plugged in for awhile, it will cool to about 45 degrees Fahrenheit, which is definitely pretty chilly. I didn t realize Mac OS X could do this. I had this cooler plugged into the laptop, and at one point the Mac told me that it was drawing too much USB power and would shut it down. Wow. That s impressive. So, I changed it up and plugged it into one of the USB grommets on my desk. Or, you can plug it into a wall. If you drink cold drinks near your computer, you need one of these. This will keep your drink cold until you finish it. If you re like me, you can t drink soda or anything once it has gotten warm. This Cool It USB Chiller is worth every bit of the $24.95 cost. The next must-have computer accessory is here. With the USB Beverage Chiller at your side, you can keep your beverage chilled and stay at your computer longer. Just seconds after plugging the chiller into your computer’s USB port (no external outlet needed), the coldplate chills to 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the perfect temperature for keeping your beverage chilled. So what other cool USB gadgets do you want me to check out? Send me your recommendations! Want to embed this video on your own site, blog, or forum? What’s the Best External Battery for the PSP, iPod, or iPhone?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 23, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed Several blogs have reported that the battery life of the iPhone 3G and the original iPhone running 2.0 have put a damper on the phone to last all day. Despite the fact that the battery life of the 3G is bad, it s still better than other phones like it. It s true that it drains fast. What are you gonna do? You could carry a cord around with you wherever you go, or get some kind of external battery pack. I ve had my Lenmar external battery pack for awhile, and never really used it much. It s an excellent device though. It s a high-capacity external battery that will charge any USB device, so long as you have the proper cable. That would includes a DS, PSP, iPhone, iPod, Zune.. anything that charges via USB. Yes, it s as big as the iPhone itself, but not nearly as heavy. It does the job, though, which is what matters. When you re traveling, using one of these just makes sense. Why carry tons of separate chargers with you? Simply take an external battery with you, and charge all your devices with it. It has a mini USB connection, and a regular one. There s an indicator light that will tell you whether anything is charging or not, and turns off when the device is fully charged. These aren t cheap to buy, but it s actually saving you money. Think of buying 3 or more separate chargers for devices. Keep in mind, as well, that even proprietary chargers still charge via USB. Using this helps me get through the day, and doubles my charge on my iPhone. I ll be looking for an external battery made specifically for an iPhone. So, pass along your recommendations! What’s Your Best Bowling Score, Ever?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 23, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed Eric is a regular visitor in our live community, who goes by than handle of iBowler or Bowler4Ever. He is an avid bowler, and sent in his tips to help all of you bowl higher scores! While I read Eric s bowling tips, I had a video done by XXOwnsXY from our chat room. She was playing around with OECake in that video, and it s way cool. Know your shoe size! You need special shoes to bowl in, as street shoes can damage the approach. If you don’t know, check inside your shoe for a tag or the bottom part of the shoe. After you get your lane, look for the bowling ball that weighs the perfect amount for you and make sure it fits your hand! Whatever your body weight is, take 10% from it. That would be the weight of your ball. BUT, if it’s too heavy, keep going a pound lighter until it feels somewhat decent for you. Don’t EVER get the tightest fit for you. If you’ve checked out YouTube, people have launched balls into the ceiling…and clocks! Also, never get balls with the fingerholes too big…you don’t want to get a broken foot! Make sure it’s snug, but still loose enough for you fingers! NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN THE BOWLING AREA! There’s a reason why those signs are all over the place. What happens if you spill soda all over the approach? You stick! sugary carbonated water turns into a sticky syrup that is a PAIN to clean off the approach and the shoes!…And if you fall and hurt yourself…it’s nobody’s fault but your own. Don’t even bring water down there (precautionary measures). You see that black line where the gutters start? Don’t you DARE go past it! That line is called the foul line and what it does is a) Lets you know that you went too far down and b) saves you from injury. Why? Because after that line there is a ton of oil that goes the rest of the way down the lane a certain distance. That oil is clear and very slippery and you WILL get hurt! Bowler’s Courtesy. Now I know you’re new to the game and all that, but league bowlers (such as myself) HATE it when people just rush up right beside or even in front of them and bowl. It’s very agitating and dangerous! Bowling balls weigh up to 16 pounds and if yo get smacked by one of those suckers, you’re going to get some broken bones! If you’re bowling on the first or last lane of the bowling center, do NOT go down that aisle and knock down the pins that way. Why? It’s dangerous and you can get kicked and banned from the center. It’s happened! So don’t do it! If you re a bowler, what s your highest score ever? What silly mistakes or oopsies have you made while bowling? Have You Updated Your DNS Settings?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 22, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed If you have your own website, sit still and listen closely. What I m going to talk to you about is that important. Even more important is for you to pass this information on to your friends, family and coworkers. What happens when you go to open your favorite website and it s not there? Well, it s possible you have some malware there, yes. But it s also likely it s a security flaw in your DNS. Recently, a significant threat to DNS, the system that translates names you can remember (such as www.doxpara.com) to numbers the Internet can route (66.240.226.139) was discovered, that would allow malicious people to impersonate almost any website on the Internet. Software companies across the industry have quietly collaborated to simultaneously release fixes for all affected name servers. The problem is, there is a flaw that is going through your DNS. You can protect yourself by setting yourself to OpenDNS. This can affect you no matter what computer or operating system you re using, and no matter what ISP you may have. If you connect to the Internet, you need to have DNS servers. Your computer needs to know how to match an IP address with a domain name. How do you know if your DNS settings have been compromised? Head over to DoxPara. Dan has done a fantastic job of putting all of this information together for you, along with the tool to help you see if you ve been compromised. Whether you re an Expert or a novice you need to check your DNS now. You ll be safe if you switch to OpenDNS. Want to embed this video on your own site, blog, or forum? How do You Run Windows Programs without Windows?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 22, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed If any of you subscribe to CPU magazine, you know I m a monthly columnist. I ve become a huge user advocate. I even recently suggested that the hardware and software industry adopt an operating system that isn t Windows in order to benefit Windows. More competition on the desktop is good for everyone. I got an email here about something I know I have heard about in the past. I just haven t had an occasion to tell you all about it. Sam pointed me towards ReactOS. ReactOS is a free, modern operating system based on the design of Windows XP/2003. Written completely from scratch, it aims to follow the Windows architecture designed by Microsoft from the hardware level right through to the application level. This is not a Linux based system, and shares none of the unix architecture. The main goal of the ReactOS project is to provide an operating system which is binary compatible with Windows. This will allow your Windows applications and drivers to run as they would on your Windows system. Additionally, the look and feel of the Windows operating system is used, such that people accustomed to the familiar user interface of Windows would find using ReactOS straightforward. The ultimate goal of ReactOS is to allow you to remove Windows and install ReactOS without the end user noticing the change. Please bear in mind that ReactOS 0.3.5 is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is not recommended for everyday use. Certainly the hope for open-source will grow. I ve had a long-standing belief that open-source is the future of software. It s more than just a marketing tactic. Not only do you get software for free, it s about learning from the code as well. I m no coder. I can work my way around a file or script, but I can t do much of it on my own from scratch. I can do a bit of HTML and CSS but I only learned that by looking at what others have done. from The Chris Pirillo Show July 22, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed During the course of the average weekday, we record videos here on the live stream. Sometimes, I run out of ideas of what to do. So when I threw it out to the chat room for suggestions, Fireworks came up with a good one. He wanted me to check out AuthorStream. On AuthorStream, you can upload, share and discover PowerPoint presentations. Let s look at the features available to you with your free registration. Send to YouTube If you had set up Rehearsed Timings or have recorded audio Narrations in your PowerPoint file, they would automatically be available in a video format (MP4 or M4V) which can be shared on YouTube via send to YouTube feature. Share on iPod via iTunes Your presentations will also be available to be downloaded in iTunes. Your viewers can then sync their iPods and have your presentations available even when they are not online! Download PowerPoint As a viewer, you can now download PowerPoint files if their respective authors have given their permission to do so. This is a great feature for those who like presentations and want to use a slide or two to enrich their own. Featured Audio/Animation Presentations Cool presentations get featured and you can view them categorized as Featured Presentations, Featured Audio Presentations and Featured Animated Presentations. RSS Feeds Subscribe to the RSS feeds for categorized groups of slideshows as well as customized feeds for users and tags. So instead of emailing a Presentation to someone you need to collaborate with, why not use AuthorStream? You could even use Google Docs or MindMeister. What Software do You use with TiVo?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 22, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed After I blogged recently about wanting to try TiVo, I was sent a unit to review for a few weeks. I ve been wanting to try it out, so this was a great opportunity. With certain software, you can take programs you record on TiVo and transcode them on your computer. You can then turn them into videos you can watch on pretty much any device. All the DVRs I ve had are boxes unto themselves, they couldn t be networked in any way. By networking my TiVo, I can then do as I described, to create videos I can play on my computer, iPhone or any other device I wanted to use. Here are a couple of programs you can use to accomplish this. TiVo Butler is an application that can track programs from multiple TiVo devices that you have on your home network. It s free, and allows you to browse the recordings you ve made on your TiVo. You can download them, encode them and much more. TiVo Butler is only available for Mac OS X. However TiVo Playlist is the Windows equivalent. Everything that you could hope to do with your TiVo, you ll be able to do with ease using TiVo Playlist. Retrieve TiVo Now Playing lists over an ethernet connection and calculate total recording time and disk space used Support for multiple TiVo units Estimate free space remaining given the capacity of the TiVo hard drive(s) Display either full List View or Folder View Mouseover Title shows description of recorded show along with Year Released/Air Date, Actors, Director, etc. View graphical representation of disk free space and space used by either recording status or recording quality Export of Now Playing lists to CSV files for use in other programs such as Microsoft Excel Batch downloading of recordings to PC (even from multiple machines) Tested to run under Windows 2000 and XP Pro and reported to run under Windows 98/ME, XP Home and Vista Works best at screen sizes 800 600 or larger if running 96dpi, or 1024 768 or larger if running 120dpi Downloads to FAT32 partitions support up to 4Gb filesizes, NTFS partitions support files > 4Gb (Windows 2000/XP/Vista only) Access via HTTP/HTTPS and requires TiVo software version 7.1 or newer You know how to email me, if you have other DVR or TiVo software or tips to pass along to me! Episode 58 - Gadget Station (Pt. 2)
from The Wood Whisperer Woodworking Video Podcast July 21, 2008
For the first time ever, I am using mail-ordered wood. This material came from Bell Forest Products and I was very impressed with the quality. The shipment came in two packs and contained some really nice wide bubinga boards, as well as a piece ebony for the trim and some spalted maple for the doors. I sticker and stack the wood and talk about acclimation, and how it pertains to this particular situation. I talk a little bit about moisture meters as well and finish up by showing my strategy for cutting the cabinet parts out of the rough lumber so that the grain flows nicely.

Flip Video Camera Reviewed
from School Of Podcasting's Morning Announcements July 21, 2008
Today I dip my toe into the Video Podcasting pool. I was lucky enough to secure one of the new Flip Video Cameras. This camera takes great video no matter what lighting you put it in (if you have extreme back lighting it may be a little dark, but let's be realistic..). I took video at dusk and it looked much brighter than it actually was in real life. The great thing is you can take up to 60 minutes of video. It has a rewing and fast forward on the camera for reviewing the video. You can easily delete video that you don't want to keep. It also has a built in 2X zoom. It runs on a rechargable battery that gets charged when you plug the camera into your USB port. The USB interface pops out when you flip a switch. It also has the ability to be put on a tripod. The microphone pics up audio great from the front, and while it's not as clear from the back its still easily understood if you are commenting from behind the camera while shooting video. If I had used my old camera I would record to super 8, then have to transfer the video to my computer. So if I shot 60 minutes of video it would take (roughly) 60 minutes of time to transfer to my computer. With the Flip camera, I plug the camera into my computer, and I can drag and drop the files into my favorite editing program. This took about 3 minutes instead of 60 with my old camera. If you don't have editing software, there are some basic video editing software that comes with the camera that allows you to pick where the video starts and stops as well as you can put background music to the video. It also has some features that make uploading video to you tube uber easy. So what would I change? I like that you can plug it into a video source (like a TV) to watch the video. I do wish I could plug it in and use the TV as a monitor. You can't do this. When you record, the video is only display on the display on the back of the camera. The other thing I would change is to put a retractable lens cover. The camera comes with a nifty puch to carry the camera, but I would rather have a lense cover. My last thing (and this is kind of outside the scope of the product) would be to have the ability to use it as a web cam. That's not really a fair criticism. It's more of a add to the dream list. It retails for around $139. For me, if you're looking to get into video podcasting, and you want to be mobile, you're looking to do something fast and quick, it's a no brainer. I know I will be doing all sorts of Dave around town types of videos. If you're are going to want to mix in music, or plug a microphone directly into it, then you will need to look for another camera, and hit a bank machine, on the way to Best Buy. Check it the Flip Mino Video Camera at Amazon.com

Every thing that happens on Earth is not only up to God now. You have a part to play in His "Acts." He wants to say some things to someone, but He's waiting for you to speak so that He may speak. His will is that "All should be saved", but He's waiting on you to preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15)! He wants some mountains to be removed in your life, but He needs you to speak to them by faith (Mark 11:23). He's wants to touch someone, but He's waiting on you to exercise your faith by laying your hands on them (Mark 16:17,18). He wants to manifest Himself tangibly in our church services, at our outreaches, in our homes, and even through our songs, but he will not enter in forcefully. He's a gentleman. In the culture that I come from, when someone goes to jail, we start a "Free (Persons name here) campaign." No, The Holy Spirit isn't dwelling in a literal jail cell, but if you are a "Holy Spirit Filled Christian", He has come upon you, and is living inside of you, waiting to do some things on Earth NOW, through you. In the name of Jesus, "Free Da' Holy Ghost" by faith. What up family! ya' boy is back from ministering at youth camp! I've been basking in the Glory of God with my fokes from Christian Worship Center (Pastor Aaron Hankins / Alexandria, LA), and Victory life Church (Pastor Phil Privete / Hampton, VA). Man we had an awesome time! From there I flew to Alexandria, LA to continue what was started at youth camp. There we had an outreach in one of the "hood" parks where a lot of crime takes place, and man...God did "His Thang!" I gave an altar call as I ministered "In The Holy Ghost", and we praised God with the angels as we witnessed the birth of our new baby brothers and sisters! Of course I had to hit the church (CWC) and strenghthen up the believers and deliver a few "prophetic packages", and again, The Holy Spirit manifested himself to us in AWEsome ways! (Some of our new baby brothers and sisters even showed up!) Make sure you check out some of the video footage from camp below! I wasn't able to include the outreach footage and CWC footage, but that will all be coming soon! Keep checkin ya' inbox for reports from my mission field! These are exciting times, and God is doing exciting things through this ministry as I continue to walk and minister by faith! Glory to God! Mynista heads out to Coker Creek, TN to "Deeper Youth Camp 08" to fellowship, minister, and be refreshed...check it out! "Free Da' Holy Ghost!" CLICK HERE TO WATCH IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE VIDEO BELOW.... "Prophetic Perspective" (Pre-recorded On 5/08/08) Mynista and Qfyre discuss "Spirituality vs Spookiness" and "Religion vs Holiness." Partnership is very important to me. I really don't talk about it or present the invitation to it that much, because people can get the wrong impression about what you're trying to do. But God has really been pushing me out to "Beckon foke." It's my responsibility to give people the opportunity to sow financially into this ministry. This is a Kingdom work, and it takes a kingdom minded people to understand that. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of His kingdom is being preached. Souls are being won, the saints are being edified, bodies are being healed, and The Holy Spirit is free to do "His Thang"over here! So if God puts it on your heart to give financially to this ministry, don't hesitate, know that this is good ground! my latest FREE CD Preparation was 100% partner funded! I Praise God for those that He sends my way to help me do what I love doing. Of course I also want you to expect a financial harvest as you sow by faith. As you give in faith today, know that "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Will Chris and Leo from TechTV ever Reunite?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 20, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed Leo LaPorte and I worked together a few years ago on TechTV. Since that time, we have appeared at different conferences and conventions at the same time. People constantly ask when will you and Leo do something together again!? . We are each doing our own thing these days, but it was great fun to get together via phone during Leo s recent 24 Hours of iPhone . We had a lot of laughs, and discussed many different things. First and foremost, of course, we dished about the new iPhone 3G. Here s a peek at some of the other products we talked about. Tengu Here we have a cute little white plastic brick with a face made of LEDs. The tiny microphone in the base picks up sounds in the room, whether it’s music, or your loudmouth boss, and makes his mouth move in time. It’s like he’s lip synching to the song! Kinda like Britney, only much much smaller, and probably smells better. He’s USB powered, so plug him in to any powered USB port, set him near your favorite sound-source, and your little buddy will perform for you all day long! USB Humping Dog It doesn’t serve any purpose, but it’s what they do. They are insatiable. And that’s all we really have to say. Harley is brown and Duke is black, and you can take your pick. Oh, and don’t worry - if the kids ask what the doggie is doing to your computer, just say, “He’s trying to jump over the computer, but he got a little stuck,” or “The computer is giving him a piggyback ride.” Either will suffice. We, of course, had to talk about live streaming. I explained to Leo that I love leaving the stream running all the time for many reasons. You never know what will happen at any given time throughout the day. You can see bloopers, chat it up with the Mods, watch me lose my patience and sanity, and even help me out when I m stuck. Leo said that I am his inspiration for his own live streaming. He said he caught what we were doing here one day, and thought to himself this is what I need to be doing! . It was great spending some time chatting one-on-one with Leo again. Keep your eyes and ears open. You never know when and where it could happen again. What do you Think of the iPhone 3G?
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 20, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed I ll miss my iPhone. I will no longer be using it as my primary communications device. We ve had really good times together. We ve had good conversations together, and sent many a great text message. There s nothing wrong with my iPhone. It s just not for me anymore. We ve grown apart, that s all. I m breaking up with my iPhone. It s true. I won t be using it anymore. Maybe Wicket will want it. Instead, I ll be using my iPhone 3G!!! Oh come on. You should have seen that one coming. You ve been watching me wait for the 3G to get here for how long now? I gotta tell you. I m happy with the upgrade so far. It s not a dramatic upgrade, no. My initial impressions are good. For the most part, it s a good experience. Instabilities abound, many of which have been noted on iPhone and apple-related sites and forums. The hope of the community is that Apple will be releasing a firmware update at some point in the very near future, to clear up some of the hiccups that people are experiencing. Introducing iPhone 3G. With fast 3G wireless technology, GPS mapping, support for enterprise features like Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, iPhone 3G puts even more features at your fingertips. And like the original iPhone, it combines three products in one — a revolutionary phone, a widescreen iPod, and a breakthrough Internet device with rich HTML email and a desktop-class web browser. iPhone 3G. It redefines what a mobile phone can do — again. Phone Make a call by tapping a name or send a text with the intelligent keyboard. iPod Enjoy music and video on a widescreen display and shop for music with a tap. Internet Browse the real web, get HTML email, and find yourself with GPS maps. What s new in the iPhone? 3G Speed 3G technology gives iPhone fast access to the Internet and email over cellular networks around the world. iPhone 3G also makes it possible to do more in more places: Surf the web, download email, get directions, and watch video — even while you’re on a call. Maps with GPS Find your location, get directions, and see traffic — all from your phone. Maps on iPhone 3G combines GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell tower location technology with the Multi-Touch interface to create the best mobile map application ever. App Store Tap into the App Store and you’ll find applications in every category, from games to business, education to entertainment, finance to health and fitness, productivity to social networking. These applications have been designed to take advantage of iPhone features such as Multi-Touch, the accelerometer, wireless, and GPS. And some are even free. You can download them wirelessly and start using them right away. There are so many more things, as well. You can check them all out for yourself on the Apple website, or in any Apple store. I m telling you. The iPhone is changing the way we communicate, work and play. If you have the 3G already, what are your initial thoughts? If you don t have one yet why not? Crash Bandicoot Nitro Cart 3D Video Review
from The Chris Pirillo Show July 20, 2008
Add to iTunes | Add to YouTube | Add to Google | RSS Feed Yes, it s Crash Bandicoot Nitro Cart 3D, which is available in the App Store for about $10.00 if you have an iPhone, of course. I have heard a lot about this, so I had to check it out. This app has been sponsored by Matt. Thanks to all of you for the iTunes gift cards! Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 3D is a Mario Kart-like 3D racer with Crash Bandicoot at the wheel instead of the chubby Brooklyn plumber. You unlock new characters as you collect items, but the controls are pretty much standard for iPhone racing games. The default calibration is off, leading Crash to always veer left at the neutral point even when we started up the game with the phone on a desk. This means you need to tilt the phone slightly to the right to go straight. One thing that strikes me as really good about this game is the accelerometer option. You can adjust the sensitivity, which I did. I tend to over-steer at times. You can adjust the sounds and/or music if you wish. You can choose your player, once you unlock them. The game loads quickly. The game is fun, but there s still optimization that needs to happen. It s dropping some frames, but not horribly. I don t miss having a joystick, believe it or not. It s very simple to steer and control the game characters. If you re familiar with this type of game, I think you ll fall in love with it. Train Your Brain For The Game- .mpcAudio Download.
