Experiment 1: Autonomous discovery of physiology through tracker guided visual feedbackThis is an experiment in which I'm trying to teach an artificial neural network about a virtual organisms' physiology. The learning process is guided by visual feedback: specifically, 3d coordinates of a marker mounted on the robot. I'm still working on getting the visual feedback in a usable way. The teaching process will be based on an evolutionary algorithm. The sensoric feed will be processed by several neural networks. The eventual senso-motoric coordination ability will be the basis for higher-order movement and coordination tasks. This bootstrapping process will be rooted in theory regarding "Ontogenesis" (biological development of an organism). Below is a video of an example Robot. Combination of ARToolkit, OpenCV (Intel's Open Computer Vision) and nxtlibc created in C++.

Premièrement petit gueulante à l'encontre de daily qui me zappe à chaque fois pour l'encodage en HD !Paranthèse fermée, voici un petit clip tourné il y a trois semaines pour un artsite du nom de tema. Ce clip a été tourné en une journée avec une canon hv20 et mon kit mini35. On l’a réalisé avec très peu de moyen (juste 2 mandarines). Plutôt content du résultat vu toutes les merdes que l'on a eu sur cette journée de tournage. She is the best actress of my movie. Some dusts can be shown becuase I forgot to blow it away before I took this video clip. It's a 35mm static adapter which is based on Daniel's tutorial. Though it is a static adapter, it still can have a good resolution. (Don't forget to blow dusts before using it) I'm planning to make some extra adapters for whom can not make their own by themselves. Canon Xti Burst Stopmotion Video from Gabriel Di Matteo on Vimeo. This is a stopmotion draft concept i´ve made for a near future film proyect. It was completely made with a Canon Rebel Xti 50mm lens on burst mode P. Then animated on Proshow Gold and music/edited on Vegas 7. Music is argentine synthpop vocal group "Entre Ríos" and the song perfomed by Isol is called "Lima". This video is just a test and it´s shown in low res for fast upload only. The final result will be full HD for Movie Theatres with a final resolution of 2304x1728px on 300dpi de-interlaced video printed on film. We went to Yoyo's basement club where NSG introduced me to a couple of his friends - one of which was Mark Ronson. On the day of the shoot we arrived back to my car half an hour late and I got a parking penalty of £80 (for just two hours of parking). Today when I was thinking of an appeal I noticed that the registration they recorded was wrong. So those money grabbers can kiss my ass! - and get a real job. Edited with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and cropped into a '2.4:1' aspect ratio by exporting final video into 1920x792 resolution. Most shots are enhanced with color grading filters using 'Magic Bullet Looks' - effects such as the 'Warm & Fuzzy' and 'MisFire Vignette' (additional plug-in for Premiere Pro). Selected shots were further enhanced with a 'Depth of Field' look by applying a 'lens blur' effect in Adobe After Effects 7 Pro. Exported into an un-compressed AVI at 1920x792 (2.4:1 aspect) and exported again using QuickTime Pro for the HD video and a YouTube compressed video with the H.264 codec before finally uploading.
