Classic Cars in Bad Automobile Accidents in Vintage Movie
from Metacafe - Today's Videos by Metacafe August 20, 2008
How to Avoid an Accident is a classic promotional film that pushes the latest in tire technology: Super Squeegee Tires. Interesting for its classic cars and historical look at automotive innovation, the film also features some fantastic car crash scenes. Animation is also used to demonstrate the horrors of vehicular accidents and the danger they pose to the driver, the unsuspecting pedestrian, and children. How to Avoid an Accident smacks of campy 1940s dryness and rigid word view. how to make young drivers drive safely: 1953 scare video
from Revver - popular Videos August 01, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Fri, 01 Aug 2008 13:53:05 -0800 Duration: 51Lowell Thomas narrates It's Wanton Murder with his famous sonorous voice about the dangers of driving. Echoing more popular notions during World War 2, Thomas immediately points out that "death does not exist in war alone." Casualties from bad car accidents each year far outnumber the amount of people who died in World War II, the safety video tells us. To best exemplify this statistic, Thomas reads a letter from an army wife who describes worrying about her husband overseas, only to have him returned without injury, but be killed months later by another driver. Featuring high production values and searing dramatic scenes (especially for a highway safety video), It's Wanton Murder is a touchstone safety film. Unusual for the time, brutal footage of actual car accident carnage is included. But the overall message remains uplifting, as prevention, carefulness, and safety are paramount to living a healthy and happy life. These vintage car accident videos in It's Wanton Murder ...

Driven to Kill: A 1950s Road Rage and Reckless Driving Film
from Revver - car, crash Videos July 16, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 15:39:43 -0800 Duration: 49Driven to Kill, narrated by Lowell Thomas, tells the story of Hal, an upstanding U.S. citizen who changes into a dangerous madman when he gets behind the wheel. With Thomas classic dry delivery as a backdrop, the film captures Hal as a real red-blooded American: he hunts and isn't afraid to let his kids play with knives in the kitchen! Hes a different man when hes driving, though, and his road rage (or aggressive driving) causes him to get in an accident that kills the other driver. Throughout this educational video are beautiful shots of classic cars and vintage automobiles. The ruining of Hal's life in this scare tactics video serves as a stern message about the dangers of reckless driving. Bad drivers at their best, Driven to Kill is an amusing glance at the history of road rage in America, with some important lessons car safety features and safe driving.

1935 Award Winning Driver Training Animation Feature by GM
from Revver - car Videos July 16, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 07:39:38 -0800 Duration: 42This early driving promotional video and driving safety film by General Motors won the 1936 National Safety Councils first place award. Using animation, color, black and white, live action, and split screen footage, We Drivers presents the problems of reckless driving behavior in the ancient paradigm of the good self and bad self, represented by animated angel Sensible Sam and devil Reckless Rudolph. These funny 1930 cartoon images, along with Old Man Momentum, a sort of hairy giant that takes curves too fast and tailgates, help tease out the risk factors of driving situations, like night-driving, driving in fog, bad drivers, changing gears, speeding cars, driving while tired, aggressive driving, and road rage. Of course, plenty of great footage of classic cars and vintage vehicles populate the film. Not your typical car accident video, however, the end comes when Sam and Rudolph engage in a boxing match and, when Sam knocks Rudolph out, the referee calls out a list of ten ...

Driving Education Film: Your Permit To Drive (1951)
from Revver - american Videos July 16, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 07:39:38 -0800 Duration: 57This beautifully filmed short, Your Permit to Drive, was produced by General Motors Corporation in the 1950s. One of the better driving videos from the fifties, this movie is a succinct and crisp discussion of the pleasure, the privilege, and the responsibility of driving. The narrator is a talking drivers license. He claims that the automobile has allowed for the modern American standard of living. Scenes illustrating this include a parade of different cars, trucks, and buses on the road, as well as a shot of a shiny new convertible being loaded up with groceries. Then the talking license reminds the audience that signing a drivers permit equals signing a pledge to drive safely and respect others rights on the road. The film shows scenes of policemen asking drivers for their identification, and even car accident video clips. The talking license laments that too many young drivers dont take the responsibility of driving seriously, often leading to tragedy. The narrator then ...

Edgar Kennedy (Keystone Kops) Road Rage Training Movie
from Revver - humor Videos July 16, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 00:35:17 -0800 Duration: 55In 1937's The Other Fellow, classic comedian Edgar Kennedy (one of the original Keystone Cops) ditches his dangerous driving (road rage aggressive driving) and learns to obey the rules of the road. Kennedy reforms his reckless driving ways through humorous lessons (like ridiculous car accident clips) that stress the importance of safe driving. Informed and cautious thanks to safe driving tips, Kennedy is no longer the other fellow causing accidents. Kennedy learns not to be The Other Fellow that everyone else can't stand on the road by learning how to drive a car properly. A great responsible driving safety video.

Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 00:35:17 -0800 Duration: 47This beautifully filmed and engaging 1960's driving safety film doesnt pull any punches in exploring the ramifications car accidents can have on a family. Mr. Wayne, a man who previously preached to his family defensive driving tips, forgets one of his own rules and is killed along with his son in a car accident. The film moves towards campy melodrama as his ghost goes back to visit his bereaved familys house, where his wife is selling his favorite old chair to an elderly couple. With the dead father narrating, the film illustrates the grief of his wife and daughter because of the tragic death in the family, especially when the little boy dies in the hospital of the wounds he sustained due to his fathers inaction. After the youngster dies, the ghost of his father asks him for absolution but is denied. And along the way, the film shows that the elderly couple that bought the chair were the same people who caused the accident! This film is powerful, and also contains some parts ...

Author: QIP1 Added: Wed, 16 Jul 2008 00:35:17 -0800 Duration: 35Anyone At All! is a fantastic scary safety film from the 1940s. After getting through some car accident statistics, the film really gets going. A bunch of teenagers are having a surprise party for their beloved friend Larry. But as the kids keep waiting and waiting (while demonstrating reckless behavior!), Larry never shows because he's been in a fatal car accident. Larry's friends go on a crusade for teen driving accidents safety, responsible driving, and general goodness. Included are great scenes of post World War II American goody goodies working for the school paper and organizing cheesy parades, all in the name of stopping bad car accidents. But the film takes a turn after this, forgetting Larry's positive friends and their activities, and going more with scare tactics. Next the movie focuses on people who've become handicapped from car accident injury. People in wheelchairs, people who have been blinded, all are present and absolutely ranting about the dangers of ...

Tire & Driving Safety Film: The Chance You Take (1960s)
from Revver - video Videos July 15, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Tue, 15 Jul 2008 19:39:31 -0800 Duration: 52Chance You Take is a well produced 1960s promotional video from General Tire that harps on the dangers of poor quality automobile tires. According to the sinister sounding narrator, every year more than 1.5 million families are involved in a vehicle accident. While there are many factors to blame, no problem is greater than the tires. More than two tons of force is trying to pull apart the tires while a car breaks. Because of this, more thought should be given to ones car. Even those that do not drive often or take long trips should take warning. Around 80% of all accidents happen within 10 miles of home. After painting this dark picture of automobile danger and showing off vintage cars, General Tire has a solution for all Americans! The General Tire Dual 90 is a much wider tire. It offers more stopping traction and seals punctures from nails or other obstacles while rolling. It also has twin treads, which make it the best control tire on the market. Chance You Take is a fun and ...

As shown, passing improperly, speeding, drunk driving, and tailgating can cause road traffic accidents. Drunk driving accidents are the worst and the film describes how defensive driving techniques can help to keep everyone safe. While not all scenarios result in bad car accidents, there are still many close calls that are meant to encourage responsible driving and good driving habits. Live and Let Live provides excellent tips for safe driving while not resorting to gory car accident video clips.

Jimmy Stewart Narrates a Drivers Education Film (1940s)
from Revver - video Videos July 15, 2008
Author: QIP1 Added: Tue, 15 Jul 2008 14:43:42 -0800 Duration: 53This film is from the safe driving genre (some fun educational videos), but it has many extras in it that make it a cut above average. Famous actor Jimmy Stewart narrates, introducing four unrelated people who are going to be filmed for one day. Stewart informs the audience that by the end one of them will die in a car accident. They each drive different cars or have different car safety features, any of which could lead to bad car accidents: one drives a hotrod, one has faulty brakes. The suspense is heightened effectively by knowing ahead of time that only one group will die, and guessing at which one. A fine example of 1940's melodrama, And Then There Were Four explores safe driving topics as well as the risk factors of driving. Of the many Jimmy Stewart narrations, this film about unsafe car dangers is highly entertaining.

Author: QIP1 Added: Tue, 15 Jul 2008 14:43:42 -0800 Duration: 45Borrowed Power is a typical drivers education film meant to scare kids into being cautious and responsible drivers. Jerry Thomas, quarterback of his high school football team and all-around great guy (the classic 1950's perfect young man), turns into a different person when he gets behind the wheel of a car. He drives aggressively, speeds, and generally abuses the borrowed power of the car. When he and two friends get hauled into court on suspicion of a hit-and-run in their (now) vintage cars, Jerry gets a lesson in the responsibilities of safe driving from the judge. In a touching showing of loyalty, a parade of friends and family come in to testify about how Jerry is such a great guy. The judge comments to Jerrys father that Jerry received enough training to be a good pedestrian and bicyclist, but that he needed some more guidance when it came to being a good driver and vehicle safety. Life lessons abound by the end of the film as Jerry begins to understand what a serious matter ...

Classic San Francisco Street Racing Hot Rods Safety Movie
from Dailymotion - most recent videos July 10, 2008
This 1950’s film chronicles how four high schools in the San Francisco Bay Area molded safe teen drivers by participating in the Mobil (now Exxonmobil) Economy Run, a race whose objective was to drive around the city within a designated period of time while avoiding penalties like speeding or violating traffic laws. The driver would be accompanied by a professional racecar driver, who would give the teens advice on how to drive safely and save gas. Scenes of the kids dancing in a malt shop and driving around San Francisco in vintage hot rods, street rods, and rat rods is included, but the real gem in this film is the great footage of San Francisco itself, including the Golden Gate Bridge. California teen drivers education sure was fun in the 1950s, and On the Run provides the experience of San Francisco history as well as drag strip racing history and old school hot rods.Author: QualityInformation Tags: muscle cars drag old american rod rat car exxonmobil drawings road rage custom hotrods exxon mobil defensive driving vintage Posted: 10 July 2008 Rating: 0.0 Votes: 0
