Show 241 Part 2 of 2. Islam: What the West Needs to Know. Audio version of the film documentary.
from American Conservative University Podcast July 23, 2008
Show 241 Part 2 of 2. Islam: What the West Needs to Know. Audio version of the film documentary. To see the free video visit Google Video - Islam: What the West needs to know. ACU highly recommends this documentary. Documentary description-An examination of Islam, violence, and the fate of the non-Muslim world. Virtually every major Western leader has over the past several years expressed the view that Islam is a peaceful religion and that those who commit violence in its name are fanatics who misinterpret its tenets. This claim, while widely circulated, rarely attracts serious public examination. Now, the question is finally being asked, Is Islam itself violent? Through an examination of the Koran, other Islamic texts, and the example of the prophet Muhammad, this documentary establishes, through a sober and methodical presentation, that violence against non-Muslims is and has always been an integral aspect of Islam. Jihad, while best translated as struggle, as represented in the Koran and the life of Muhammad, means nothing less than organized warfare against unbelievers. Relying primarily on Islam's own sources, this documentary demonstrates that Islam is a violent, expansionary ideology that seeks the destruction or subjugation of other faiths, cultures, and systems of government. The documentary consists of original interviews, citations from Islamic texts, Islamic artwork, computer-animated maps, footage of Western leaders, and Islamic television broadcasts. Its tone is sober, methodical, and compelling. Features interviews with noted experts on Islam including Robert Spencer, Serge Trifkovic, Bat Ye'or, Abdullah Al-Araby, and former terrorist Walid Shoebat.

Howard Fineman: The Thirteen American Arguments
from We The People Stories July 21, 2008
Howard Fineman, the highly respected political journalist, joins the National Constitution Center to discuss his absorbing new work of American history, journalism, and analysis "The Thirteen American Arguments." Fineman writes that every debate we have had in the political arena, from our founding to today, has evolved from one of these arguments. Though the conventional wisdom is that Americans argue too much, Fineman believes that just the opposite is true. Fineman finds many of these basic arguments are tied to the U.S. Constitution, from the Preamble being written in the name of “We the People,” to who determines what the law is. Program recorded on 05/20/08.

Mr. Barack Obama and all pro-abortion Christians.
from southnews July 21, 2008
To Mr. Barack Obama and all pro-abortion Christians, Any coward who supports abortion has the blood of babies on their hands. Thanks to RADIO STATION nplr.NET for the use of this video Are you a pro-choice Christian, like Barack Obama? Barack Obama wasted over 20 years in his pro-abortion, anti-white racist church. The Church is Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, with racist pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright but that the world through him might be saved. :18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. SAY THIS PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I am a sinner and am headed to eternal hell because of my sins. I believe you died on the cross to take away my sins and to take me to heaven. Jesus, I ask you now to come into my heart and take away my sins and give me eternal life. http://www.armyofgod.com

GOD AND POLITICS 20 July 08
from Everyday Ethics July 20, 2008
We debate the controversial claim by Iris Robinson MP that the duty of government is to 'uphold God's law'. What is the relevance of the Bible in our society today? Defending Iris Robinson's comments are Baptist pastor Hadden Wilson and Rabbi Menachem Brachman; while Simon Barrow, co-director of the progressive Christian think-tank Ekklesia, and John Barry, leader of the Northern Ireland Green Party, challenge the claim that the state should enforce God's law. In a separate discussion, Philip Orr, Martin Jacques and Dawn Purvis MLA explore the relationship between Protestantism and working class life in Northern Ireland. They ask: Is the church too middle class? To join the battle of ideas on these and other issues, visit the William Crawley's blog at bbc.co.uk/blogs/ni.

George Lakoff - Idea Framing, Metaphors, and Your Brain
from FORA.tv - Daily Video FORAcast July 16, 2008
Complete video at: http://fora.tv/2008/06/20/George_Lakoff_on_The_Political_Mind UC-Berkeley Linguistics Professor George Lakoff discusses how idea framing and metaphors contribute to shaping the way we think. ----- UC Berkeley Professor George Lakoff discusses concepts from his new book, The Political Mind: Why You Can't Understand 21st-Century American Politics with an 18th-Century Brain. George P. Lakoff is a professor of linguistics (in particular, cognitive linguistics) at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has taught since 1972. Although some of his research involves questions traditionally pursued by linguists, such as the conditions under which a certain linguistic construction is grammatically viable, he is most famous for his ideas about the centrality of metaphor to human thinking, political behavior and society. He is particularly famous for his concept of the "embodied mind" which he has written about in relation to mathematics. In recent years he has applied his work to the realm of politics, and founded a progressive think tank, the Rockridge Institute. FORA.tv podcasts are sponsored by Pfizer.
