Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious alien time-traveller known as "the Doctor" who travels in his space and time-ship, the TARDIS, which appears from the exterior to be a blue police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, solving problems, facing monsters and righting wrongs. Los Angeles - April 2008- Scion s Installation 4, It s A Beautiful World, will open in Los Angeles, the last of nine cities on the national tour, on May 10. The innovative Scion Installation Art Tour launched its fourth installment last July and features a diverse array of artists from around the world. The theme, It s a Beautiful World, was interpreted by each artist, in one of four mediums painting, photography, sculpture, and collage. The culmination of the tour is accompanied by a live auction where all of the artwork will be auctioned off to the public, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go toward art related charities. In previous years, the auctions have raised more than $110,000 for charity. This year's artists include: Andrew Pommier, Andy Mueller, Angela Boatwright, Blaine Fontana, Blek LeRat, Books III, Caia Koopman, Chris Yormick, Cody Hudson, Dalek, David Choe, Eye One, Francesco LoCastro, Freddi C, J. Shea, James Jean, Jeff Soto, Joshua Krause, Kelsey Brookes, Kenton Parker, Kofie, Mel Kadel, Michael Sieben, Mike Giant, Rammellzee, RETNA, R. Grimes, Ron English, Sam Flores, Sage Vaughn, Skwerm, Tim McCormick, Travis Millard, and The London Police. The final tour stop and auction will be held in Los Angeles, at the Scion Installation L.A. space in the Culver City Arts District May 10 - June 1, 2008. Most all of the Installation 4 artists will attend the opening night of the show on May 10. The opening reception will take place from 8 pm 10 pm at 3521 Helms Ave. (at National), Culver City, Calif., 90232. There will be an artist and press reception from 6 pm 8 pm. Hey guys, I'm back yet again with a BRAND NEW VIDEO for you guys to watch and hopefully you will enjoy it, it's fresh it's new, I have nothing else to say lol. Ok, probably by now, you should know I'm a Doctor Who fan, however I've only been a fan since 2005, since they revived the Series in that certain year. I've seen Series 1 to 3, Three Christmas Specials, and have seen the first three Episodes of Series 4. I have a couple of Doctor Who books, and use to collect Doctor Who Battles In Time, but I didn't want to get it anymore. I have a mini Tardis that came with the magazine which is filled with Doctor Who Battles In Time Cards. That is pretty much it for what I have of Doctor Who until now..............DUN DUN DUN!!! I decided to go on Amazon and purchase a Remote Control Dalek. It arrived on Tuesday and I got to grips with the controls, although it can be tricky sometimes. I also purchased another Dalek, it's a figure from the First Series, and I also ordered a Cyberman figure, although I was shocked regarding it's huuuge size, I was expecting it to be the same size as the Dalek figure. Anyway, I've decided to make a video of me controlling the Dalek, and well show you the other stuff I got. I call my Dalek.........Red Devil Dalek lol, very cheesy. As you can see, I'm not too bad controlling it, I've never really used a Remote Control before, can't even remember the last time I used one of them. Erm, yea I'm talking in the video, excuse my cough, I didn't want to narrate but you guys made me do it lol. I still have the little orange pins (I took two) on my bags that I carry everywhere I go. Recently I finally found the time to go to the website Hungrr.com and I wish I had gone sooner. I was raised in one of the wealthiest places in Queens, Forest Hills. I literally lived just around the corner from Burns Street, a private little neighborhood full of rich people. Little did anyone know that my family was living our own private struggle of poverty. This past year my family (Mother, 3 older sisters and 3 young nephews) and I were evicted from our apartment of 15 years. Currently we reside in a homeless shelter in the South Bronx. It's a completely different view here then we ever had in Forest Hills. Gun shots, abuse, and struggle are constant visuals of 'our block.' When we first got here we had absolutely no money in our pockets and nothing but hope and water to keep us alive. When we asked for help from the Government we were told we would have to wait for assistance but in the meantime to drink lots of water until food and money arrived. It took 10 days for food and 6 months for money. My nephews range from 2 to 7 years old, imagine telling three young children that they have to ignore their hunger pains and to just drink water. It's unthinkable. We've been here since October and yes we've gotten help although we still struggle constantly. The sad thing is, this entire shelter is full of families. Children just like my nephews, and teenagers just like myself. All of us have similar experiences, days without food and nights without dreams. I showed my mother the video on youtube and she said "They pushed him away just like they did to us." The sad thing is, most people imagine the homeless to be these hairy, smelly, drunken old men but so many of the homeless are children, babies, teenagers, and families who just ended up in a bad situation for one reason or the other and because of this situation, poverty, our voices tend to be hushed or ignored. I know Hungrr isn't about the homeless but by speaking up about hunger- you're helping to be one of the voices of the hungry and the homeless. The fact that anyone, other than myself, cares enough to speak out for those who can't, is a beautiful thing and restores my faith in people. This is kind of an unusually long message to send you but I felt like it was a small way of expressing myself and thanking you. Keep doing what you're doing, it's amazing. I'll keep on wearing the pins on my bags and if there is anything else I can do to support you- let me know. Thank you for supporting those in need. A few minutes before this occurred Hungrr was speaking with a guy from Bloomberg News who was set up there and broadcasting from the very same spot in front of the NBC truck. Hungrr then saw someone setting up some gear with a Fox News sticker on it and mistakenly thought these guys were from Fox. Seems they were from G4. Thanks to all the nice people we met on the line at the Apple store. American people are generous and hard working people. We are not being sarcastic. We mean it.
