An adorable young tyke tells his father all about a nifty school program where the children learn to drive their bikes the idea being to learn the rules of driving a car while operating their bicycles. Interspersed throughout are some hilarious shots of kids riding on the hoods of cars and other odd auto pranks illustrated to dissuade people from performing them. The film has even more value since it contains beautiful 1950s footage of southern California (specifically Burbank and Glendale). Next up is Dive Index, the collaborative efforts of lyricist and singers Natalie Walker, Merz, Cat Martino, and Ian Masters (of Pale Saints) backed up musically by Kevin O'Donnell (drummer for Andrew Bird), CJ Camerieri (horn for Rufus Wainwright) and Julia Kent and Maxim Moston (cello and violin for Antony one of the few remaining authentic links to the raucous, pure Chicago blues , backed by the amazing The Blues Imperials (guitarist Mike Garrett, bassist James Pookie Young, drummer Kelly Littleton) to create a consistently joyous, and rollicking sound. Val Emmich is up next with a song off of his sixth release 'Little Dagger' that shows pop can be much more when created by the right talent, as he creates big melodies with a lasting message. Lisa Bouchelle shows off her blend of acoustic pop that has seen her compared to Sheryl Crow, and Jewel and is one of the reasons why she has backed the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, and Cyndi Lauper. We then glide into the groove laid down by Brooklyn's Elizabeth Harper who sounds like she was separated a birth from the UK sounds of The Smiths and New Order with touches of 60's French pop and the California's folk-pop sound of the 70's. Shifting musical gears comes thanks to the genre defying The Pimps Of Joytime who grab a little bit from funk, Afrobeat, Latin and hip hop, that seeps into your bones and refuses to let you stand still. Back again is one of our favorite collaborative duos Madrid De Los Austrias (DJ and A Pogo Kreiner) as they take Heavy vino tinto, flamenco and other typical Andalusian flavors to create an exotic rhythm. Bogota's Sidestepper grabs the rhythm takes it south of the border as they take the beats of salsa and club and toss in Colombian folk influences, dancehall reggae, dub and even Afrobeat, layering infectious melodies and tingling harmonies on top of rock solid beats and fat bass lines. Keeping the musical flavor in South America is Brazils Imada who calls upon the influences of samba rhythms and melodies and mixes jazz, Afro-Cuban, and house that will makes you think what Moby would have sounded like if he had been born there. We close the workout portion with Plastilina Mosh (Jonaz Gonzalez and Alejandro Rosso) who serve up a slice of pop meets rocks with Mexican influences for a sound that speaks of the passion of the thumping heart and the quirky nature that is infatuation. We start cooling things down with the multi-media artist Antony Raijekov who has been turning his unique blend of cool electronica since 2003, before the collaborative efforts of producer Estrechez and vocalist Jehn Cerron take over, and we close the show out with multi-media artist Ds-Art (Dusan Sevic). Southern California's Delta Spirit takes 60's protest folk, and rocks it up a notch, as barebones piano trades punches with bass and guitars before Montreal's The Stills keep the rocking bass and add frantic guitars, and howling vocals for a whirlwind of sound. Keeping things rocking are David Usher who serves up a steady beat and drive of energy from his latest release, and then hands things of to the U.K's The Charlatans as guitars jangle and drive themselves around a thumpin bass and drum anchor of music. Shifting gears between rock and dance are The Dandy Warhols before we dish up a remixed version of Erika Jayne's latest single filled with positive vibrations and takes the primal throbbing energy of the dance floor and mirrors it in musical form. Kristy Hawkshaw has been busy lending her vocals to a wide range of producers and remix artists and teams up with Malta's top DJ JJoy this time for another musical gem. This time Kirsty's trademark vocals that mirror the power and strength from within and merge them with JJoy's musical wizardry for mixing electro house, progressive trance and techno together into a non-stop musical wave of energy that you want to jump onto. Something we do with Tyler Michaud's Dirty Girl, which takes that wave, and keeps it rolling along with the help internationally renowned singer Marcie to turn that wave into an electro-meets-progressive house tsunami. Closing the workout is one of Uruguay's most internationally recognized DJs and producers, Sandro Peres, as he uses the bassline and guitars to follow and support the vocals. Cooling things back down is a great free download courtesy of Loveshadow as he takes a chilling vibe and adds the rapping styling of Forensic and balances it all out with the silky sexy vocals of Anji Bee. Balkan Fanatik are back to show off their blend of traditional Balkans musical heritage and add the sounds of today for a unique musical treat before we close things out with the title song from The Atomica Project's latest release Grayscale that took the duo of programmer/songwriter Wade Alin and vocalist Lauren Cheatham three years to make and prove the wait of downtempo beats and stunning female vocals was well worth the wait.
