After a series of electrical storms disrupts the world, electrical engineer Bruce Gordon develops a machine to trace the cause of the disasters. He discovers that the source is in central Africa and, backed by the nations of the world, sets out on an expedition. Bruce learns that the disturbances emanate from an area called the Magnetic Mountain. But unknown to our hero and his pal Jerry, the Magnetic Mountain also contains a super-advanced secret city ruled by the tyrannical scientific wizard named Zolok, who has unleashed the electrical fury threatening civilization as part of his plan to conquer the world. Zolok has under his control a brilliant inventor, Manyus, Manyus' beautiful daughter Natcha and an army of giant African slaves, who follow the dictates of a strongman, Appolyn, and Gorza, a dwarf. Also in the mix are schemers Reynolds and Colton, who plan to capture Manyus and thereby gain control of Zolok's army, and a double-crossing fellow explorer named Butterfield. As most of you know I was in the Army, it s how Glenna and I met, and I still have the upmost respect for the armed forces. Especialy groups like the Seals, Rangers, SF, etc. It takes a certain kind of person to want to and be able to make it through the training. For every 10 that volunter to be a Seal, 7-8 will not make it . I ve the privlage of meeting some Seals, some Rangers, even some MI6 fellows ..and I am glad there are those who are still willing to join the military. It s not an easy life, I know .I still think about my time and some things I will never forget I hope you enjoy this brief glimpse, these fellows are in week 2, they were training mid day, in the hot sun, running to the ocean, paddling out to sea, coming back in over the rocks and waves, in full uniform (when those things get wet, they weigh a ton) , carring the boat which weighs .what must feel like a ton, over their heads, it can t touch their heads, btw, any infranction, any deviation and you are corrected .all this while people are watching .tough is too mild a word for how that must feel ..but still they did it, over and over again for hours ..it makes me look at my fat gut and feel guilty

Me again, rambling on about my crazy hectic week (again), the last live N3RDcast, my wifes run in with a kidney stone, my audio comment on Comic Book Noise 128, my package from Silver Comics, and the books I just got from the Science Fiction Book Club.

Understandably, everyone had a lot to say for this episode. The good news is that you get over 3 hours of content out of the episode. The bad news? I guess you ll be wearing out those pause buttons. This is a packed episode, including discussion on Marvel, DC, The Dark Knight, Hellboy, Vertigo, etc, etc, etc. We literally discuss just about everything. Next week is the Television Report Card episode where we plan to discuss the television industry and their recent efforts to make the networks geek-friendly.
