Known almost as much for his eclectic taste in music as he is for his numerous, multi-genre productions and remixes, Philadelphia producer and DJ King Britt credits the success of his own hip-hop, house, soul, acid jazz, and electric pop creations to his genuine love of all things musical. Producing and remixing since 1990 while attending Temple University, he met Ishmael Butler (aka Butterfly), who introduced Britt to his jazz-rap group Digable Planets. Acquiring the nickname Silkworm, Britt toured with the group as their DJ for more than two years. After rocking it with the DP’s Britt took a turn to pursue his visionary retro funk band Sylk 130.
