Dave And Shecky's Groovy Boob Tube Review #26 06-04-06
from - Dave & Shecky's Groovy Boob Tube Review! - June 05, 2006
CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND (2003) Starring Sam Rockwell, Drew Barrymore, George Clooney and Julia Roberts. This week we strayed away from Pay-per-view and found this movie playing on IFC. When the book first came out we were both interested in reading it. Dave started it, but didn't like it and I just never picked it up. It's rare when a movie is actually better than the book, but this seems to be the case with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. It's well-scripted, well-acted and well-directed. My biggest complaint? I needed to see more Murray Langston! If this isn't your first time listening to our podcast then you know we can't ever stay on topic, and this episode is no different. Who knew that the term "Far East" would set Dave on a tangent? Not me, but that's exactly what happened. We discuss how cocaine can turn your hair prematurely grey, our favorite modern day actresses, a really awful anti-smoking PSA that's currently airing everytime we turn on the television, and some other interesting stuff. Somewhere in the middle we discuss Henry Rollins' show on IFC, which jogs my memory about a story that Pat Moriarity told me a few years ago. After recording the podcast, I called Pat and realized that my story was not exactly how it went down, but its pretty damn close. Regardless, Pat drew Henry Rollins as a bunny and Henry Rollins didn't seem to like it! How dare he! Anyway, here's a panel from a comic book story written by Rollins but illustrated by Pat. And here's a link to an entire page of the comic. Thanks Pat! Visit our website at DaveAndShecky.com!
