Titre original: Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi / 史上最強の弟子 ケンイチ Titre Alternatif: History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Années de production: 2006-2007 Studio: TMS (Akira; Bt'X; Babe, My Love) Genres: Combats surnom est FUNUKEN [signifie Lâche + Ken abréviation de Kenichi]). Un jour alors qu'il se rendait au lycée il fait la rencontre de Fuurinji Miu, une nouvelle arrivante et également experte en Arts Martiaux. Plus tard dans la journée, Kenichi se fait défié par Daimonji à son club de Karaté dont le perdant doit quitté le club, Daimonji est considéré comme le plus fort du club. Kenichi étant le plus faible du club (et oui il fallait bien une contrainte), il est destiné à partir du club. La nuit du même jour, un homme âgé se fait agressé par un bande de voyous/Yakuzas; Kenichi tente de le défendre seulement il se fait balayer d'un seul coup. Miu voyant la scène intervient donc et leur inflige une correction. C'est à partir de là que Ken-chan rejoint le dojo où s'entraine Miu Le Ryouzanpaku afin de gagner son défi et battre Daimonji. Seulement ce dojo est quelque peu spécial, les maîtres, tous experts dans un art martial précis, et ayant des caractères dès fois plus que troublant refusent tous de l'entrainé à part un. Arrive là un entrainement que l'on peut qualifier de plus que douloureux. Peu de temps après, Kenichi arrive tant bien que mal à battre Daimonji grâce à l'enseignement de son maître. Peu à peu, les autres maîtres prennent goût à l'entrainement de Kenichi et de son seul maître et décident d'y participer. John Chiego, bass Deborah Heath, piano recorded live at the University of Memphis 2/14/98 1. Homage to A.T. (13:06) 2. Scherzo: La Vendetta (5:12) 3. Warrington-Variations (20:55) About Marshall Fine: Currently Assistant Principal Violist of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Marshall Fine is a versatile composer/performer who plays both violin and viola with equal facility. His output includes three symphonies, an oratorio, La Dolorosa, a violin concerto, and many sonatas (six for viola, three for violin). He received his DMA in 1990 from the University of Memphis. In addition to his orchestra position, he also arranges for his string quartet, the Bluff City String Quartet, and for other ensembles. This sonata was written for John Chiego, former principal bass of the Memphis Symphony, who is currently professor of double bass at the University of Memphis. About John Chiego: Mr. John Chiego, is Professor of Double Bass and the Associate Director for Curriculum and Instruction in the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis. Mr. Chiego currently serves as the Principal Bass of the Nashville Chamber Orchestra and is the bassist for the Orpheum Theatre Orchestra in Memphis, playing for touring Broadway shows. He was the long time Principal Bass of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and served on the faculties of the Hot Springs Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, the Allegheny Summer Music Festival, the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and the Tennessee Governor s School for the Arts. He has also been an Artist-in-Residence at the Bay View Chamber Music Festival. As a recitalist and clinician, Mr. Chiego has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, with featured solo recitals at the Edinburgh International Double Bass Festival and The International Society of Bassists’ worldwide convention in Houston, Texas. A champion of modern instruments, Mr. Chiego recorded his first CD, It’s a Bass Thing, featuring a double bass built by Thomas Kelischek. Mr. Chiego currently plays instruments made by American bass maker Rumano Solano exclusively. Mr. Chiego has been a member of the editorial board for The American String Teacher magazine, a journal for which he has written articles on double bass pedagogy and technique, and has served as Tennessee Chapter President of the American String Teachers Association. Mr. Chiego is the author of The Musical Experience, a popular textbook for introductory music courses currently being used by colleges and universities across the United States.

Jeffrey has a great conversation with Onye Onyemaechi who is Internationally known for his healing, teaching and music, Onye brings the soul of African Culture to create and teach a blend of the best of traditional culture and modern life styles to individuals and organizations around the world. Recognized as a pioneer in using music, rhythms and dance to bring diverse communities together and as a tool for personal and societal healing, Onye is a celebrated recording artist, performer, producer and composer. As Onye says: “The miracle of life and music came to be in the very same moment of creation. In the beginning was the Word—embodied sound—and then the word was made flesh. All emerged from the Only One Source, issuing forth first as sound.  That’s why sound, as primal as ancient drumming, is such a powerful force for bringing people together and bringing people back to what’s most real in themselves”. In Onye’s presentation “The Village Rhythm Experience” at the upcoming International Sound Healing Conference here in Santa Fe, participants will experience the power of authentic African rhythm languages and dance patterns bringing community and true communion with others together with self. By exploring the Great Mystery through drumming and dance, participants can transcend fear, surrender to love and reconnect to thier most healthy and holy core. The drumming experience generates compassion and peace, evokes grace and bridges cultures by promoting respect for others and modeling positive life-affirming ways of relating. Participants will also learn basic drumming techniques and compositions with emphasis on the spiritual and healing components of drum rhythms and trance states and the influence they exert on every day life.  They will also learn how to develop intuitive improvisation with the attitude of native musicianship at the same time having fun making joyful music.
