This is by ex-wag Chris Sullivan dreaming of the days when he was a lad on the motor bikes - by the way the CND (peace sign) ear rings are worn by the lovely Cara-Mia Cassini.

Eric Etheridge visits Google's Mountain View, CA headquarters to discuss his book "Breach of Peace: Portraits of the 1961 Mississippi Freedom Riders." This event took place on June 24, 2008, as part of the Authors@Google series. Breach of Peace celebrates the Freedom Riders, featuring rare-seen mug shots alongside stunning contemporary portraits. In the spring and summer of 1961, several hundred Americans—blacks and whites, men and women—converged on Jackson, Mississippi, to challenge state segregation laws. The Freedom Riders, as they came to be known, were determined to open up the South to civil rights: it was illegal for bus and train stations to discriminate, but most did and were not interested in change. Over 300 people were arrested and convicted of the charge "breach of the peace." Collected here in a richly illustrated, large-format book featuring over seventy contemporary photographs, alongside the original mug shots, and exclusive interviews with former Freedom Riders, is that testament: a moving archive of a chapter in U.S. history that hasn't yet closed. A journalist and photographer, Eric Etheridge grew up in Carthage, Mississippi. He is a former editor at Rolling Stone, The New York Observer and Harper's. In 1995, he co-founded the magazine George with John F. A update on progress here on my 1961 Studebaker Hawk restoration. We have brought to life the Sweepsteaks 259 thats at home currently under the hood and plan to put some gas to her tomorrow to see how she purrs. I've also began to un seize the original 289 which I would like to put back under the hood. you will notice I've began the body work process as well includeing the removal of the back window. As far as I can tell the 289 blew a head gasket causing water to enter the piston and corrode the pistons as well as overheat the block. We'll see soon how the berrings look on the underside. be sure to check out all the stude videos on youtube as these are Great AMERICAN CARS people stop trying to impress me with your lack of euro cars.. lol.
