What should we do about such feeds? The good: It just plain sucks. The bad: This is porn spam. The review: This feed is nothing but porn spam... nothing but advertising to get you to come login or signup to some porn site... the person is gaming youtub and trying to game us. Not sure wether we should delete it, but we need to put our foot down on this stuff at some point.
I stumbled on this feed because the porn spammer got a little overzealous and reviewed their own damn feed.
Nothing but contempt.
Let me know what you do.

V L O G ~ F L U X
vSocial Sucks The good: it's mine : ) The bad: if you search for it on this site, it will not show up. BUT a BS vSocial feed that claiming to be me will. The review: Thanks for the great tools Peter. Is there somthing that can be done about aggregators publishing their own feeds of content creators work. I get a lot of hits from your Tagging system but if someone searches for me here they find vSocial's feed and It looks like I don't even exist.

vSocial sucks The good: nothing The bad: this feed is hijacked and I'm glad no on has subscribed to it. We need to find a way to prevent these companies from publishing feeds that we can't even track. If you're not subscribing to the feed that exists on the content creators website then you The review: Peter, is there some way for us to control this problem?
My feed is listed here already, why can this company send you there version of my feed... I don't even use that site anymore. I searched for myself and found them... NOT me. that's f'd up.

Palo Alto Rowing Club
Rowing Podcast The good: Good candid junior rowing shots from PARC. The bad: The review: This is a somewhat experimental vblog, as the public rarely gets to see so much rowing video taken by the coach. For a parent of a junior rower, it's very educational to see the -inside- view of the program. For a prospective Palo Alto Rowing Club rower, this is the real deal: life is crew.

few are still the pure
Inspirational, charismatic, suicidal The good: Very unusual and compelling. The subject is very charismatic. She kind of pulls you in. The bad: It's a long talking-head movie, with lots of subtitles, and it's a bit of work to understand her heavily accented English. The review: The two artists who made this movie never planned to release it as is to a wide audience. There was no script, no rehearsal, no plan to the production at all. And it is intimately personal in scope. But in post-production it was decided to release it due to the effect it was having on private audiences. Reactions ranged from tearful to outraged, but it was clear that no-one who saw it was left unmoved.
The low-tech, heavily saturated quality of the images gives a surreal sense to the drea ...

Adam Curry: Daily Source Code
Podcaster experimenting with videoblogging The good: Adam is experimenting with the medium The bad: Still just experimenting, he doesn't feel as comfy in front of the camera as in front of a mike. The review: Adam Curry started playing around with videoblogging. I have the feeling he's not entirely confortable with the medium just yet, but it's a good start.
Experimenting with speaking to the camera, Adam: show your eyes! Don't be afraid. Check out Josh Leo's stuff - he's goofy but totally comfortable in front of the camera. When cutting together a day's worth of footage: don't do videoclips. This isn't MTV!
My feeling is: Adam clearly comes from the radio/mtv backgroun ...

antcast
the music video channel you thought could never happen. The good: finally all the ollaborative goodness of antville becomes *the* music video channel on the 'net. The bad: it's a mixed bag, and this cobbled-together feed misses a few entries. The review: http://videos.antville.org has evolved into the coolest source for music videos on the net. it's gathered a passionate community who do their best to locate links to interesting videos, and then comment on them - think metafilter for music videos.
a lot of participants are from the music video industry, including quite a few directors, so the selection of videos (at a current avergage of eight to ten per day) is never banal or commercial, always fresh.

My Road to a Better Smile
My Vlog Description The good: This is my NYC video sketchbook with harmless and non-violent intentions. The bad: It's a sketchbook, the entries are often personal iota, and you're much better off jogging in the park. The review: This is my first vlog, it's a kind of sketchbook.

MacDocman's Do's and Don'ts
The good: Great sense of humor with an interesting take on life. The bad: Too few yet to find the bad. The review: With only 5 or so videos at the moment, I already get a feel for this guy. Which is a good thing.
He is a documentary filmmaker in Amsterdam with a wicked sense of humor and a mind that is probing what exactly a videoblog means to himself. And another video about the pros and cons of circumcision...which was an interesting topic to choose..
Looking forward to more from him!

Secret Vlog Injection
From Blogumentary to Vlog The good: Chuck Olsen was one of the first videoblogs I ever watched, so I guess I should blame him for me doing it. If that is what we are doing today; giving blame. The bad: As creator of MNstories.com, he doesn't have as much time to create for SVI:Minnesota. Other than that, I really can't complain. The review: This man has more street cred than you do. Sorry, but it just had to be said before you sit down and watch some Secret Vlog Injection.
Some videos deal with the day-to-day, some are exploring the theoretics of the medium, and some are just brought out during the Xmas season. In other words, this aint yer typical videoblog filled with cat videos-- this is an actual bone-i-fied Media Maker making media.
And yes, within his archives you can watch him be Satan, pick ...

THIS OR THAT! = BURLESQUE GAME SHOW
LOL while falling down: The good: Never laughed out loud so much The bad: Too much stuff going on to see it all The review: Where else are you going to see: a mime attacked with rotten tomatoes for performing badly, old fashioned tassel twirling burlesque strip-tease, game show contestants invited to strip along with the act on stage, a Vanna White type game show hostess who is too busy using her adult prizes to let the winners have them, contestants who willingly exchange their clothing with burlesque performers on stage, a Chuck Barris-on-crack kind of host who leads contestants through the madness and makes sure t ...

Learn Japanese with Beb and Alex
Very promising idea The good: Really promising way to learn Japanese, and a look into the culture The bad: Not enough movies. Not enough movies. The review: I wish this existed for every language, and I wish there'd be 100s of movies instead of 3 (at the time of writing this review). Apart from that, nothing bad. I like the formal little presentations, and I like the interviews in-a-bar ("what's your favourite word?"). All good.

Learn Japanese with Beb and Alex
Knocking about Osaka The good: As much fun as Spring break. The bad: You'll never learn Japanese this way. The review: The graphics in the title hold out a lot of hope, but it's unlikely that you'll be able to learn either Japanese or English from these clips. Nonetheless, for a cheery glimpse of expats and their local friends, they have charm.
The "ALT rap," a hip-hop lament of an assistant English language teacher in Japan, is a worthy effort. The Japanese Ministry of Education has a now long running program to bring native speakers to Japan to help with language instruction in schoo ...

Mario's Planet
The Young Commander of Starship Vienna The good: Very creative ideas, nicely executed. The bad: As with many video bloggers, we'd like to see more from Mario than these few clips. The review: Mario's efforts show that low budget and dampened production quality (even a studio that consists of only an oblique nook in an attic) are not blocks to appealing videos. Commanding ideas win out. The few clips Mario has made show charm and clever execution. His "Pump it up!" episode in which he inflates an old, floral patterned air mattress is well filmed and well cut. Mario has a natural grasp of video editing.
But then, there is Mario's personality as well. It rad ...

Dreamies® Video Art Podcast. Trippy Political Video.
Eye candy and politics. Music video for news junkies. The good: This is a really interesting blend of art and politics. Eye candy for thinking people. The bad: No killer opinion. Seems to teeter between right and left politically. The review: If you follow current affairs, if you crave the daily news, if you enjoy music video and semi-psychedelic arty stuff, well then, you should love Dreamies. Takes a little getting used to, but once you settle in, this can be a truly mesmerizing place to relax and enjoy.
Every so often somebody trys to stake out the elusive turf of "new genre"; Dreamies Eye Candy & Politics by Bill Holt actually comes close. Most of the movies are less than a minute, and the loading i ...

kitykity's video blog
A life in 5 second increments The good: You begin to know this family, and the kids are very cute. The bad: Lots of low light videos which are difficult to watch. The review: Susan has an interesting concept--showing her life in 5 second increments, I guess the theory being that if you're going to base a video blog on your own children, anybody can enjoy it for 5 seconds. And she succeeds. I love how she involves her kids. I have enjoyed getting to know her family. I admire her chutzpah in posting her karaoke performances.
A plus for me for this vlog is that she posts almost daily. The minus is that when you post daily, the interest/quality level i ...

Media Nipple - Visual Communication
Learning to read a visual world. The good: In a world of everything else - this daily vlog deserves a look. The bad: The review: It is one thing to enjoy making and publishing videos - or even simply watching TV. However, it is quite another to understand this activity as constructing culture - literally making culture through our (visual) language. Media Nipple is a daily vlog that points to a variety of the constructs we view every day on TV. Why? To question, instruct, to illuminate, and to foment change.
In a mediated world, we assess cultural “value” and “meaning” through visual product ...

THIS OR THAT! = BURLESQUE GAME SHOW
Old time burlesque Theater The good: Amazing, crazy burlesque antics have changed my sex life... The bad: Don't watch it with someone you don't want to get to know better. The review: Yeah! Bring back the old burlesque theater, the old circus sideshow acts, mix it up with a Chuck-Barris-on-crack type host and you've got "This or That"!!!!
And don't forget Julie Atlas Muz, the sexy brains of this operation. She keeps everyone on their toes here--its worth watching just to look at her.
Bottom line is: you'll never see any of this on television, and this is a really well produced, entertaining video pod cast. And frequent too, 3-4 times a week there's ...
