it's been about a month since we arrived in virginia. been having trouble picking up my camera as much or editing my own videos. we're offline a lot, so that might have something to do with it... i feel i'm on a roll here though so there is more to come!

we stopped in virginia before we headed up to new england for a couple weeks. i took jay's dad's dogs for a little walk, or rather they took me...

we made it to nelson's house.

as we finish moving cross country, i am starting to go through my stuff at my mom's house which she is also moving out of. all this moving... it's really strange reading old journals and seeing old photos and videos. keep some, throw most away. p.s. don't my mom's cats look like some alternate reality version of battle cat and white baby? p.p.s it's videobloggging week 2008. go get 'em!

i was laughing my ass off when verdi and jay picked up the wii. i've never actually seen anyone use this, oddly, and i thought it was so funny. also this is one of the only clips i recorded during our trip on my xacti. i just never picked it up. jay took lots of photos though. have a lot of stuff for ryanishungry on tapes though! i think that was enough for me. videoblogging week 2008 starts tomorrow. time to video things for real!

we left california 14 days ago. can't believe it's been 2 weeks already. and we're only half way across the US in missouri at richard and maureen's house. we've been taking our time and staying with people for a few days at a time. have not actually been taping a lot, except for a few ryanishungry shoots (soon to come).

our last week in SF, we took the train to and from the city to work on a video shoot. SF is a beautiful place to ride the train for sure.

as we prepared to leave SF, we decided to do some things like go to the beach. what there is a beach 10 miles away? i like that people before us made a little see-saw bridge and wrote in the sand.

we visited this radical squat-community called can masdeu in barcelona. they have these amazing gardens on this beautiful land over looking barcelona and out to the sea. their story is really interesting- they took over the abandoned building in 2001 by just staging a sit in (ok it was a little more dramatic than that). this footage is sound-less again.

Warning: This video has no sound! our camera was totally broken by the end of the trip. well at least it took images! barcelona was awesome. i'll have a wee bit more footage of this farm/squat/coop we visited too. ah europe, good times!!

the eiffel tower made my hands sweat. i'm not good with heights, esp open air heights. yikes! but it was definitely worth it.

we made it to london! we're staying with rupert and kate! they made us a beautiful welcome dinner! we rode a double decker bus! we saw big ben! it rained! we drank tea!

we trotted down south of london to brighton, where beth tilston (and rupert and robert croma) had put together a screening of a whole bunch of NaVloPoMo videos. it was so much fun! can you play spot the vlogger in this video? croma tries to hide, phil campbell makes a cameo...exciting UK stuff here!

i always think the artwork on money is beautiful. European money tends to be a bit more colorful than US money. a friend of mine from the netherlands showed me dutch bills before they became the euro and they had mother goose flying by a windmill. how cool is that? the old school wood engraving look just kills me, i love it.

i love amsterdam. i love the people we know in amsterdam. i didn't want to leave. more to come. (oh yeah, people in this video you might know- michael schaap aka macdocman, bicycle mark)

more amsterdam. jay and i taught a few workshops at video vortex and transmission vx meeting. jay also spoke in the big room at video vortex. it's been very exciting to be able to show off a bunch of projects including showinabox.tv. people have been pretty excited about the possiblities of wordpress for video. (ok people you might recognize in this video- zenuno, daniel salber, macdocman and bicycle mark.) hurray amsterdam!

bruges is an insanely old city in belgium. therefore lots of tourists, including us, go there. it was really beautiful, but also depressingly lonely. this side trip really made me realize that traveling to any city is really only cool if you know people and are doing cool things. i'm a terrible tourist, all i want to do is either sleep or work. see old buildings and museums? nah!

ahhhhhh. i love this city. i do, i do.

good god, paris is beautiful. the only thing keeping me from wanting to move there is that i can't speak a lick of french. daniel liss was recently there as was raymond. check out their amazing videos too. our xacti broke right before we hit paris, so we were shooting blind, no LCD screen to guide us. hence some crookedness. i think we did pretty well considering! people you might know in this video: loiez, jefferey, raymond.

rupert, the originator of NaVloPoMo, challenges us again with Semanal- post 1 video a week for 2008. 52 videos is not that many! we can do it! and it will get us all videoblogging again...join the ning group so we can all encourage one another!

i finally did turn the heat on. even i couldn't stand it.

the winnies was really fun! Irina, Lan, Vu and Bonny threw a great party! and that now concludes NaVloPoMo07. i now dub december NaVloPoMoWaMo National Videoblog Posting Month Watching Month. because i know we all have to go back and watch everything that everyone made.

my sister was hanging out in california at the end of sustainable route. this was what it was like to hang out with us. two laptops, two pairs of headphones...did you say something? dorks.

i went to richmond virginia to visit my friend jason. and this is all i recorded that day. i got a cold that morning, so i felt a little uninspired, as you can tell.

it's been tough keeping up with navlopomo. being in rural virginia and trying to find wifi and keep my camera charged and then getting a head cold has not been good for posting video. i have been taping every day, so i'm going to back date some...i write my own rules here. drink plenty of apple juice when you get sick. i ordered this and the waitress said do you have a cold? yes, yes i do.

a while back, jay thought it would be ok to post a video of me sleeping...without first asking me. i was pretty mad. we made a pact to ask each other first if we could post more sensitive moments. jay told me to tape him snoring, because he didn't believe that he actually did it. well, he does! battle cat too!
