Robert provides a feeble justification for his addiction to coffee by referencing Peter Rabinovitch work on aging in mice. (Incidentally, the May 5, 2005 New Scientist article is worth a read. Rabinovitch's team genetically engineered mice to produce a high level of free radical absorbing catalase in cellular mitochondria. The work provides support for the free radical theory of aging, and suggests that a pill could be used to the same end.)

The good:
Thoughtful content, cleverly presented. Engaging.
The bad:
Not very active. Seems to have a lot to say, but isn't posting much of it.
Review:
Robert Vitello seems to have multiple personalities. I'd like to see more of them. So far, his movies are about himself and his own thoughts, and he makes no apologies for his narcissism. Humorously, when the vlog community was getting huffy and offensive in the summer of 2005 about vloggers being labeled narcisists, Robert had already declared himself one, and seemed both embarassed and proud of it. But even so, Robert is not nurturing his self-gratification. The "Robert Vitello Talking" site currently has only two movies, one longish and one brief. I'm hopeful that he will expose his rye sense of humor in more clips down the road. Right now, it seems that he made two attempts and ran out of steam.
"V001" is Robert's first work. He calls it a project outline and sets his vlogging plans. This is a very important video. It should be viewed by anyone with an interest in defining video blogging. It's not so much a manifesto as an exploration of some practical values of personal video. In one comment, he points out that video work cannot be edited interactively in the way that written material can. So videos will be either spontaneous and risk putting us to sleep, or well planned but with a long production cycle. But he might have missed the point that the goal must be somewhere inbetween: producing richly produced content but on a more aggressive schedule.
"...about Coffee" is Robert's only other clip. It's a very brief, tongue-in-cheek exegesis on how coffee can help you live longer. He gets quite a lot across in a few good-natured seconds. But then again, why aren't there more of these?
Maybe if we all clap our hands, this light won't go out.
