Norfolk was host to one of the biggest showbiz events in our region to celebrate the achievements of Cromer Based promotion Agency, Amber Models UK. Top UK glamour models, fashion experts and recent Hollywood actresses gathered at Constantia Cottage Restaurant in East Runton to mark this extraordinary occasion. Amber Models was founded a few years ago by Andreas Yiasimi, former front man of world music band 'The Constantia Brothers' "I had no idea that we would reach this favourable stage when I decided to start the agency off" explained Andreas "It was a desire to genuinely help artists and models in our area after realising there was a call for it, I'm delighted to be here today representing all these talented girls and boys. This alone is an achievement in itself that hopefully will push Norfolk in the forefront of a very tough industry" The evening was a glamorous affair that had all the ingredients of a 'London Award Ceremony' complete with world press photographers and a film crew from Norwich School Of Art and Design. The students were given a golden opportunity to cover the major event when they approached Amber Models asking for an actress involving a project. "It was a pleasure to give this assignment to the boys" said Andreas "I have seen some of their work and I was very impressed. The people behind the scenes are just as important, we could be looking at future UK filmmakers here, it's all about giving people a chance if they deserve it" The wind swept North Norfolk coast didn't dampen spirits and all the models turned on the style for the awaiting media. A spectacular display of ball-gowns and cocktail dresses graced the venues entrance and set the mood for the rest of the night. Security had to be tightened after the event was leaked in an article in the National Press so NG security from Norwich was drafted in to control the surrounding area three hours before the launch. One of the first to arrive was Hollywood's new sweetheart Melita Morgan from Norwich that has just landed a leading role in a film directed by the great Harmony Korine titled 'Mister Lonely' Melita turned heads with a sexy dress sponsored by Love Couture of Norwich. "I'm here to support our up and coming models and actresses in Norfolk" said Melita "It's a wonderful thing to have a base right here on our doorstep, I'll be organising an open day in the New Year along side Amber Models where models can have a one on one chat with me about what they want to do" Sunday Sports girl, Polly Guy, turned up the heat with a revealing dress sponsored by Babushka in Norwich. "It's fantastic to be a part of this launch" said Polly "It's unusual to have fashion models, Hollywood actresses and glamour girls all from one promotional outfit, it's about time the starchy stereotype image in modelling was smashed! I would love to try my hand in acting, perhaps as a James Bond girl or to appear in one of our British soaps" The evening wouldn't have been complete without Rebecca Richardson from North Walsham that clinched the prestigious MIss Norwich title this year. Rebecca surprised everyone by turning up with her crown and an amazing dress designed by her mother! "It's my privilege to be representing our region and Amber Models tonight" said Rebecca "It's every girls dream to win a major competition and I'm enjoying every minute of it. It's very important to make the most of something like this and I'm willing to share my title by advising other models that are thinking of entering a pageant competition" Miss Norwich has been sponsored by 'Love Couture' of Norwich and 'After Dusk' in Norfolk. Hundreds of photographs and life size posters graced the walls at Constantia Cottage that reflected the hard work over the past months. Andreas's speech emphasised the importance of keeping ones feet on the ground and covered poignant subjects like drug and alcohol abuse "It's not all about glamour" said Andreas "People don't realise that it's hard work being a model or actress and the most important thing is keeping everything on a level. There are no promises in this industry but at least we are helping local girls and boys that perhaps wouldn't have had a look in otherwise. I have always liked a challenge and it's fantastic that we are achieving so much, not only for the models but for our beautiful region as a whole" Projects for next year were announced, including an international photographic shoot involving 12 male models that will sport combat gear sponsored by the Kit Bag in East Runton. A Norfolk and Norwich fashion show is also on the cards. Music sign ups include Norfolk singer 'Julianne' and international Greek songbird, Leo Lemond. An exclusive inside look at the BFI London Film Festival screening of the new Harmony Korine movie, 'Mister Lonely' and the Norfolk star, Melita Morgan, giving a first class performance as Madonna. The Odeon Leicester Square in London opened it's doors to an array of stars for Mister Lonely directed by Californian mastermind Harmony Korine. Crowds gathered along side the red carpet hours before the scheduled screening to catch a glimpse of the star studied cast that grace the movie. Diego Luna Samantha Morton Denis Lavant, Anita Pallenberg and Norfolk's Melita Morgan were amongst the expected guests to accompany director Harmony Korine at a packed theatre. The eagerly awaited film is one of Harmony's most powerful and compelling cinematic creations to date with comedy, twists, real life drama situations all cleverly rolled into one. Making her debut international silver screen appearance was the golden girl of Norfolk, Melita Morgan that stunned the crowd with a dazzling gown that was sponsored by Love Couture of Norwich. Melita strolled effortlessly across the entrance to an array of camera flashes and made time for fans and media. Norwich born Melita was approached by film chiefs to play a principle role as a madonna impersonator sometime last year. Harmony led the cast onto the stage with his wife Rachel Korine (that plays little red riding hood in the movie) in front of an excited audience to rapturous applause. Some of the world wide reviews the movie had gained were read out just before the curtains opened. One by one Harmony's carefully chosen dream cast, as described by a fan in the audience, stepped up on stage to a seemingly continuos applause of approval. It was obvious that the selected actors weren't bought together by chance and it was Harmony's creative genius that instigated the winning formula. 'The casting audition was a long drawn out character breakdown' explained Melita Morgan that plays Madonna in the film 'It was a thorough and tough schedule that tested my acting abilities to the extreme, anyone that has worked with Harmony Korine would know exactly what I mean' Diego Luna stars as an innocent Michael Jackson impersonator who is completely besotted by the character he portrays to the extent that he believes he is actually that person. A dramatic display of Michael Jackson high-kicks and manoeuvres with outstanding sound edits introduce Diego Luna in a Paris park. The element of black comedy is quickly introduced at the beginning of the film and is a trend that follows throughout the movie that creates the laughs amongst underlining sadness and tragedy. This amazing story unfolds when Michael meets a Marilyn Monroe impersonator 'Samantha Morton' at an old peoples home, who then persuades him to join her in a commune of impersonators in the Scottish highlands. The scenery surrounding a castle and musical scores are breathtaking and deserve high rating status alone. It is here that Michael gets to know the other impersonators, including Marilyn's obsessive husband Charlie Chaplin - 'Denis Lavant', her daughter Shirley Temple, Madonna - 'Melita Morgan' The Queen - 'Anita Pallenberg', The Pope - 'James Fox' - and Abraham Lincoln 'Richard Strange' The charming and talented Denis Lavant demonstrates some superb acting in his challenging role, when I asked him what it was like working with Harmony and what were his views on the movie at the after show gathering he simply smiled rolled a cigarette and replied "tr s bon" Werner Herzog plays a drunken missionary complete with sky-diving nuns that emphasis and intriguingly link the beliefs of the impersonators to the unconditional belief of these spiritual characters. It's important to understand the connection and reason for these added clips to benefit the full power and effect of the movie as a whole. The performances are exceptional and convincingly drag us into a web of lust, deception and eventually the inevitable painful truth. Only Harmony can make an audience laugh, cry and shockingly silent all in one movie, this is what makes his productions unique and compelling. The added twists are a bonus. Every character in the film gives their all, including Melita who plays a sultry Madonna in her first ever big screen appearance. Melita's daughter, Angel also appears in the film together with future young star 9 year old Michael - Joel Stewart.The movie definitely captures the identity confusion and sad realities that sometimes reflect onto the lookalike world. Perhaps Harmony hits a nerve not just in the acting circle but in today's society in general, that is why I personally feel this movie steps more into a commercial bracket and will have even more appeal than his precious work. I have seen past films directed by him and feel he has triumphantly surpassed them with this one. The movie is boosted by Samantha Morton - 'Marilyn' and Diego Luna, as well as excellent performances from Anita Pallenberg. Richard Strange, adds to the comedy as Lincoln. The film was best described by a member of the audience during question time at the end as a poem that gels together by a dream cast that is bought to life by an exceptional producer. The movie is due for an international cinematic release in March 2008. This is much later than anticipated due to a global success at all the major film festivals around the world including Cannes.

Some of Norfolk's leading fashion experts combined forces to produce a fashion show at Dunston Hall in aid of 'Balloons for Hearts' charity in East Anglia. The Event bought together some of the regions top names including hair specialist, Max Giammello, who conjured up some amazing and colourful creations. Talented MUA, Hollie, from 'House Of Frazer' Chapelfield, Norwich, complimented the whacky hairstyles with some fine Givenchy products. Amber Models UK organised a bevy of beauties for the show after being approached by Max Giamello with the fund raising idea "It's not something agencies are readily able to do" said promoter Andreas Yiasimi "We totally respect the models time and effort needed for a function at this level. Most of the credit must go to the girls that volunteered to help. The theme running through the show was tartan, complete with bagpipes that greeted an enthusiastic audience. The runway came to life with an array of extravagant clothes supplied by love couture of Norwich and shoes by Mima Lee. The tremendous support overspilled onto the surrounding gardens at Dunston with popular event suppliers, Edge Charter moving into the action. Local sports personality, 21 year old, Tom Ashton arrived with his racing car to add to the glamour. The Southwold based former East Anglian Motocross Champion seemed at home at this prestigious function. Proud Father, Peter Ashton, was also present. This extraordinary show bought together some vibrant up and coming personalities from Cromer based agency, Amber Models UK. Glamour model, Polly Guy, made the unusual crossover to the catwalk to show her dynamic diversity and to support a worthwhile cause. The fashion evening opened a door for curvy and controversial model, Shelley Perfect, to prove a point. Recently shrouded in a barrage of media coverage over the size zero dispute, Shelley strolled effortlessly down the runway like a true natural. Miss Norwich, Rebecca Richardson added a pageant feel to the proceedings after just returning from the Miss England competition in Leicester. Poppy Rose Antoniades added an International flavour to the show and created London media awareness via her strong Greek connections. London Greek Radio had interviewed Poppy the night before the event and opened the door to world press. This polite, friendly natured top celebrity fashion model travelled on the morning of the show sporting an extravagant dress that she designed together with Adrien and Joan at all saints arts centre, Poppy dazzled the audience in this bright yellow dress that complimented her beaming smile. Poppy is no stranger to the limelight and had previously modelled for Givenchy - Harrods, Eye TV UK Ltd, Shopping Channel and Starbazaar TV Shopping Channel but to mention a few.
