iBall interviews Ralph Silva from Videoblogging - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on August 08, 2008 3 views / likes
Ralph Silva of Tower Group is a commentator much in demand for his robust views on the state of health of the banking industry. The words credit crunch are used so often now they have become almost a cliche. But how long will it go on, when will we see the end and what is going to be the long term effect?

NFL Fans Have A New Code Of Conduct from Videoblogging - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on August 07, 2008 3 views / likes
The National Football League (NFL) has announced its new code of conduct for its fans. America's most popular professional sport prohibits its sometimes reckless fans from being rude, offensive, drunk and your can't curse. While their fan base isn't quite as bad as the crazy soccer hooligans, it is quite ironic given all the off the field problems. Jason Falls breaks down why the NFL should focus more on its players and less on restricting the fans.

Today on This Week in YouTube, Lon Harris and Leah D'Emilio present the show that doesn't wear black masks, even though it's shot in Beijing. First up is a clip revealing a dreadful conspiracy spreading rainbows across the nation, an unreleased project by Joss Whedon, and an attack ad by John McCain. Paris Hilton fires back immediately, and as a result, McCain's head explodes. Wrapping up this week in YouTube is a clip from 1920s Dark Knight, a Heavy Metal Monk, and The Pharcyde's first video since they reunited. That's This Week in YouTube, which we watch so you don't have to. SCOTTEVEST ONLINE BRAND VALUE PER STYLOPHANE from Videoblogging - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on August 07, 2008 0 views / likes
Hi, I just reviewed your most recently, highly acclaimed brand ranking index here: http://stylophane.com/spi/ Alex, according to Google, in the last thirty days alone, scottevest was searched 2536 times, and this excludes many other similar terms, like scott vest, scottyvest, etc. See attached screenshot. This should put us at 240 on your list of ALL Brands, see attached. It would put us as no 2 on low volume brands, see attached. When we first encounter each other awhile back, I registered my site to this index, and am now a bit surprised to see that we are not included. BTW, see attached final report showing how google also views our website/brand compared to others in our catagory. Alex, can we discuss this? If you would like to look at my internal stats, I would be happy to share them with you. Scott

It was a long week, but I did have fun and saw a few things and met some fun people, so here is a few of the things I saw.....actually I mostly saw the T-shirt booth at the end of the video, that is where most of my 83 hours were spent... ;) The music is Meltdown Man by Derek Miller courtesy of the Podsafe Music Network

Force-Quit Applications on the iPhone from Videoblogging - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on August 07, 2008 3 views / likes
In this video, I talk about a common problem with iPhone 2.0: memory management. A lot of users complain about OS sluggishness as well as program crashes. A trick that I've used to alleviate some of these issues is to "force-quit" some of the "heavier" applications on the iPhone: Mail, iTunes, and Safari. To perform this trick, open the desired application, then hold down the home button until the program quits. This removes the program from memory and could possibly speed other things up. If you find that this trick doesn't speed things up, you can always just restart your iPhone to clear all apps from memory. Enjoy!

Rejaw from Videoblogging - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on August 07, 2008 0 views / likes
In this video, I talk about Rejaw. Rejaw is a new microblogging service which launched recently. On the surface, it looks like yet another Twitter clone. If you've been following me, you know that I am interested in these type of services. So what differentiates Rejaw from the rest of the crowd? Rejaw doesn't have a limitation of characters on your updates, and the chat is "real-time". It almost seems like a cross between IM/IRC and Twitter. It also supports "payloads" which means you can post a Youtube link, image URL, or MP3 file and it automagically recognizes them and embeds them in the update. I've only been using Rejaw for a couple of days so my follower list is fairly small. I can definitely see the potential of its features, but only time will tell if it stands a chance against the other Twitter competitors.

Track with Identi.ca using Identispy from Videoblogging - recent posts - blip.tv (beta) on August 07, 2008 0 views / likes
In this video, I talk about a new third party application called, Identispy. This jabber bot allows you to track terms on the Twitter clone, Identi.ca. If you watched my previous video on how I use Twitter, you may remember that I used the track feature a lot to filter information that comes from Twitter. Identispy is very simply to use, simply add laconica@west.spy.net to your jabber user list. Once you have done that, send the message "help" to the jabber bot to get a list of commands. The most common commands surrounding track are "track", "tracks', and "untrack". Once you start tracking terms, any time somone says the term, you will be notified. Track is beautiful! I hope Twitter brings it back soon because it brought so much value to the tool and now you can use it with Identi.ca! Enjoy!
