iTunes has really brought the world together. A great feature of the iTunes Music Store is the option to share iMix playlists with other users. I've been taking advantage of this feature when sharing my monthly playlists and CD of the week. Ashley and I recently discovered an amazing newcomer to the world of iMixes. Titled My Dead Wife this playlist features 111 of the best songs to listen to if you're about to commit suicide and leave your playlist as a keepsake for your widowed husband. Well, after I went down to Calhoun today, I noticed a few people from Benilde -- notably, Katy, Katie, and Matt. Katie decided to make a video. They had about 6 drinks on the table. It seems that some person in training at Caribou made a bunch of extra, very poor drinks. This particular Oreo Snowdrift tasted like doritos (I didn't agree, but Katy and Katie seemed to think so). The video Katie recorded didn't come out so hot -- mainly because she decided to put her finger in front of the lens. The song, however, is priceless.

With the success of my interview with Amanda Congdon, I've decided to devote a few more video blog entries to interview with interesting individuals. Today I've asked my brother, Michael Gilligan, to stop by with his new guitar. We discuss his hair, his macking on the ladies, and his choice of pants. I felt compelled to share the story of a boy who finds no luck with phones. This is the result of a night where I should be in bed, but decide to waste time reading books, blogs, and the story of my life. Please tell me that I don't end up looking like this guy. I'm much cooler... because... I'm kind of a big deal.

Thanks to Life in Bush's America for again providing me with something to rant about. A few weeks ago, "A high school teacher in Brick, NJ pulled a chair from under a student after the student refused to stand for the national anthem. The school suspended one student for filming the incident, but has yet to punish the teacher." You can view the video to get a good idea of exactly what happened. Its very disturbing; I'm not exactly sure how a man like this could get a teaching license, let alone be hired. Essentially, he begins class by screaming at the students. Then, when the national anthem comes on (schools still do that?) and one student refuses (by his right) to stand, the teacher pulls the chair out from under the student and curses at him. One user was kind enough to leave a comment with a list of over 60 faculty member's e-mail addresses. I took the liberty to drop them all a short e-mail communicating my views. Don't worry, the school took action following this incident. The administration suspended the student who filmed the incident on his camera. According to the principal, "teachers do whatever they want." I guess that involves swearing, verbally abusing, and physically mistreating students.
