Thanks for that wonderful video. Not only did I learn how to make some very strong, tall tomato cages, I really enjoyed watching your dogs run around. You have a nice family there. :-)

Merry Christmas, Gardenfork! Your food posts inspired me to go outside my culinary comfort zone and attempt a fancy frittata for the Christmas breakfast. It turned out great and I'm going to keep trying new recipes. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thankfully, Japanese beetles aren't a problem in California. In fact, I don't think they are anywhere near California. Whew!

I built a similar looking trap, though much smaller, for attracting and killing fruit flies that have been a problem near my worm bin. The bait is vinegar. They fly through the funnel and then can't fly out.

Did you grow hot peppers and tomatoes this summer? Making homemade salsa is sooooooo easy and delicious.

That cardboard box salmon looks delicious! Reminds me of the solar cooker I made once. I like that you use multiple web resources, e-mails, and your own assumptions before seeing what happens... on camera. This approach makes for very suspenseful (and occasionally hysterical) viewing. Watching Gardenfork is much more fun than watching scripted gardening and cooking shows where everything's pre-planned, everybody's an "expert", and nobody gets twanged in the face by a tomato cage. Fun stuff.

Funny... and informative. I have similar cages and my two dogs, who are brother and sister, assist me in the garden in a similar manner.

Have you given the smoker another try? You left us in suspense on that one. ;-)
