This is the Daily Dose of native music episodes 3 + 4. We have combined these two daily shows due to my illness from Monday, October 1st. Man I hate being sick! No one likes it of course. The only GOOD thing I can say about being sick is that it forces me to take a day or two off from work which has been quite hectic as of late. So resting is always a good thing right? Anyway..... In this show, I feature the music of Kenai from their latest CD Spirit of the wind and their track Power of Stone please see: www.kenaimusic.com From there we move onto the music of Douglas Blue Feather, a 7 time native American Award winner. His latest CD is Called Heal The Earth of which I feature the title track. Please see: www.douglasbluefeather.com Thank you very much for staying subscribed! As a podcaster and a webcaster, I have been basically telling my listeners to please visit http://www.savenetradio.org, and get themselves up to speed with what is about to happen in 3 weeks. I use live 365 as my broadcast provider, and any of you that use them in conjunction with your terrestrial radio broadcasts might want to explain to your listeners that the on-line portion of your broadcast will go down on that day. just about all streams will cease. See their website for details. ( http://www.live365.com The major record labels through their enforcement legal arm (The RIAA) continue to claim that we (webcasters) hold no value for them to promote their artists. This is simply the most idiotic of stances to take on this issue. Needless to say, they continue to maintain that position. Fortunately for Podcasters, most of the music that we play is what we call Pod-safe . This simply means that either the recording artist is independent, and has given us permission to use their music in our broadcasts, or the artist has joined the pod-safe music network, over at podshow.com, or some similar music network that supports the creative commons movement for independent licensing structures. Please stay informed! Contact your congressmen! Tell them to support Bill H.R. 2060 The Internet Radio Equality Act Thank You! Vlasis has performed in front of thousands of fans all over the country as a solo act as well as the lead guitarist for the art-rock group Blue Canoe and the contemporary Native American band, Brule. Vlasis loves the energy of a live audience and that joy is very evident when you watch him perform. Vlasis has also enjoyed interacting on a smaller stage as a special guest at several Omaha schools, jamming with and inspiring children in special needs classrooms and also for elementary and high school kids. Vlasis is currently putting the finishing touches on his second solo CD entitled White Dog as a follow up to his debut work Plain Sight . The next chapter in his career should prove to be his best as the lead guitarist for the powerful group One Nation while expanding his career as a solo artist.
